Rafa. He's still not happy

I think on Sunday we will get comfortably beaten by Spurs. Runners up last season, vs newly promoted team that hasn't done much strengthening. Nailed on Spurs win.
Could even be so soundly beaten that we are bottom of the league after the first weekend.

If we somehow manage to win, and play well, how will Ashley react? I think that would strengthen his case for not signing more players. Nee danger of us winning though.
Last time you played Spurs you Rafa masterminded a 5-1 victory for you surely with nearly 100 million invested in the team since then you should be odds on certainties live on sky infront of 52000 mad screaming Geordies.

It happens its always Rafa has spent nothing as he has sold loads.
How can he claim credit for the sales of Sissoko, Wynadulm, Townsend and the others? You cant deny people are praising him on his job he has done and that they use the money these players generated to give him credit. I'm sure you'll agree he had nothing to do with the sales of these players.
Benitez has a massive net spend, but as Newcastle fans are that desperate for him to be some super hero they ignore the facts.

Hang on, either he gets credit for the sales and is in charge of spending, or he gets no credit for the sales and bears no responsibility for the purchases.

Exactly this, how can he claim the credit when he never signed them in the first place, they played a handfull of games under him(which saw them relegated) then they were most likely sold against his wishes. If anything Ashely and Charnley should get credit for raising a significant transfer pot for wor Rafa.

It's here.

Today is the breaking point.

Rafa has packed his bags and has one foot out the door, report sources close to camp Rafa.

Queue the Bongers article on the club's unprecedented lack of ambition and the bungling loss of the skunk's best manager in generations.

Lock up your bedsheets.

Aye you're right. We will murder them. Will be embarrassing for Spurs. Pochettino will be sacked on Monday.

And who are these sources?

If Ashley promised Benitez every penny they make from promotion then is 30 million not about right? Turnover doesnt equal profit and they havent earned any prize money yet, that comes next year and i would expect ashley will make that available next year, once it is earned. Surely that is good business and the rigbt way to build a club. I really dont see what all the fuss is about.

Course not, but if we go back prior to the £80m McClaren spent there are seasons of under-investment too. How far back are we allowed to go?

Ashley told Benitez that he could spend anything he makes from transfers and from the Premier League money too.
Do you think its wages that are stalling deals rather then the fee?

Same as Short assurances with us ;)

We've already had the first tranche of Premier League money.

Has anyone else noticed how almost every dodgy Benitez signing is immediately classed as 'cover', one for the future or just a squad player' by the Mags

I remember them saying that about Colback and he's played the majority of games despite being a very poor player.

Some of his signings have been absolutely dreadful and even the Mags can't argue with that.
