Thoughts on our transfer business so far?

Magnificent, any Fooka who wants to pull the short and put a shift in will do for me, could be the first time in a long time we'll have a team playing for each other.....

Anyone who says it's good business so far, needs to give their heads a shake. I feel sorry for SG having to build this club back up when the foundations are built on sand!

Why? Because their opinion is different to yours?

Id the foundations are built of sand, what should SG have done transfer wise?

I'm just happy to see players who actually want to be signing for us, we've signed much better ability wise in previous years and seen them twist, moan and sulk and do the bare minimum on the pitch, one thing about this league too many going through the motions would be found out in a heartbeat, it's not so much about individuals anymore but a good work ethic and team spirit, obviously that bit of skill makes the difference as well but without the application it's nothing.
Agreed Leicester pulled together and look what they did, although it was a different league, it can work at any level if all the players and management work together

We're In debt, we all know that

But the business this far and our approach shows just how much Short has given up with this club and how little he gives a fuck.

Sooner he's gone the better

Great question tbf pal. I have to say that if someone asked me what our transfer business looked like physically, I'd say look at Grabban's chin.

If anyone is excited about spending 2 million quid they need to lay off the smack imo
If I was spending 2 million quid I would be excited but in football terms for a championship club now is ok, some teams are lucky if they get half that to spend, our finances are sh*te and we need to balance the books for once

our transfer window so far has been sad. Not writing any of the signings off. But none of them really set the pulse racing. Its more a indifferent response to all our signings. I dont really expect to much of them. Just seems like our usual transfer windows

The signing of the new players reflect the available budget. If and it's a big if we can retain Khazri and Lens we have at least a degree of quality in the squad. If the more likely scenario happens and they leave, it will leave us very weak in the creative aspect. The key to us doing well is to get off to a good start and build up our confidence, something we were obviously lacking last season.

Didn't think it would be this bad, thought Short might have gave him a decent budget to try and get us back up

There's been lots of people ignoring all the warnings and just hoping against hope that whoever was appointed would be given a decent budget.

The fact Moyes walked when he discovered how much he'd be given to spend, McInnes took one look and decided he preferred Aberdeen, and various local journalists said the total transfer budget would be less than Moyes was due in compensation, people either ignored or just hoped wasn't true.

All our business to date suggests those stories were bang on the money.

Thought we might have had s bigger budget but then Short brought in Grayson and told me that told me money was tight.

Still don't think we'll do too bad, bit of confidence in this league goes a long way and as someone else mentioned, if the club can get a lot of this debt sorted then Short might have another crack at selling next season which would be nice.

I think we have done some very good business with our budget. I was one of the fans silly enough to think we had 15m-20m to spend and over the past 3 weeks it has been shown we haven't, maybe the 6m quoted was correct. Look at who we have signed, Browning, Galloway, Grabban on loans, McGeady, Vaughan, Steele, soon to be Ruiter, maybe even McCormack and that Villa defender as well forgot his name signing in the next 2 weeks. As SG said after the game yesterday Lens was injured, no bids for him, Khazri, Kone yet and if we do get bids they have to match our valuations or they can f*ck off in other words! We have made 32 million off our two old keepers, got rid of a load of lads on high wages, most the players have taken a wage cut, we will be getting the parachute payments, our debt should be a lot healthier by the end of the season. I know positivity is a really dodgy subject on this forum with a few of the negative fans but I think we have a decent enough squad to make the playoffs, not top 2, Boro will be one of them with their spending and I fancy Fulham or Sheff Wed for the other. Point is SG has done some good business and we finally have a manager who knows the score with the fans and doesn't take any sh*t off lazy players! Just my opinion lads, can't be bothered with getting abuse off negative idiots on here;)

It's f***ing depressing

Average and uninspiring at best.

We are showing a lack of ambition which is driven by our dire financial state.

I was still hoping for more but rather than buying promising youth we seem to be going for average Championship plodders who will have little resale and no chance of succeeding in the PL
