Live streaming platform unveiled for global EFL fans...

Between now and Halloween I believe there's only something like two of our games that either a) isn't being shown on TV or b) isn't against a team using iFollow, and one of those games (Hull) will likely end up getting picked up by Sky.

I think we will still get to see the majority of our games this season although it does depend on fans of opposing teams being arsed to pop up a stream from iFollow to the wider web.

it was nice of the club to decide on my behalf that I wouldn't want to watch one camera live coverage but I would want to pay to watch a one camera re-run the next f***ing day.

One more reason to think the people running SAFC are an incompetent bunch of arseholes who don't give a shit about the fans.

I can make my own mind up if it's worth the money, if you provide the service. Thanks for not bothering.

Sounds a bit like a cop out to me, they've not really thought of the fans again and just come up with a couple of reasons not to show them.

100% this. The approach to everything now seems to be if it costs them money they're not doing it. Regardless if it would make them money in the long run.

To be fair if we are on Sky or an overseas channel lots people would be moaning that they'd paid their £110 and couldn't watch!

Good lads - keep the pressure up!

Sent Chris Waters an email.

This is a huge mistake and extremely short sighted, I'm sure their real reason it that the EFL keep too high a percentage of the subscription fees.

you're missing my point. illegal streams are already going to be available because of the ifollow platform for the majority of games. It looks like the other hold outs are similarly larger clubs....so those games will likely be on sky....again, illegal streams will already exist.

The club ate turning down revenue to avoid a problem which is unavoidable. Another false economy, Short is fond of those.

The way the club is run is an absolute joke in almost every area.

Same as the music industry...... Napster. Same shit, different product.

The club seems to be totally out of touch with the world as it actually is rather than how they would like it to be. So now we will all seek out dodgy streams for free, probably sourced by the canny lads of the good old SMB, and no one will subscribe to a day after the party service. Someone needs to tell them. This used to be called cutting off your nose to spite your face. I guess I 'win', since I will now save 100 bucks for beers watching the dodgy live feed.

Who the fuck is going to pay to watch the full match the next day!!!:lol:

Seriously, this 'service' could actually end up coming out with zero subscribers.

I have a funny feeling thats what they wanted tbh

Most of the paid IPTV services will pick the games up of clubs who have signed up anyway, I will just make do with radio commentary of the away games that they can't stream

Yep. Then they can say there isn't enough interest to justify doing the live streaming. I genuinely f***ing hate the people currently in charge of SAFC. Can't wait until every single one of them is long gone.

As for the lack of guarantees on how many games.....Wolves have managed to solve that incredible conundrum by charging per match instead of for the season.

And look what happened there. The labels stuck rigidly to selling hard copies and putting every teenager who uploaded music in jail.

Oh hang on, no they didn't.

It really frustrates me that the club is so reactive and never proactive about anything.

In ten years time when every other club had been streaming live games for the best part of a decade we will be offering a highlights DVD at the end of the season.

The article in the Chronicle says the club has emailed the details to people who contacted the club over this. Well, I was one of them and as of today, there is no email from the club for me to read. Anyone get it? If so, please cut and paste to this thread. Thanks.

I am not sure what else they can do for UK based fans for home games but as I understand it they can have beam backs for away games as long as they sell all their tickets so why can't they stream them.

I didn't get one either.

They go on about better supporter relations and communication then can't even be arsed to give overseas fans a way to watch the team they love. It's been put on a plate for them.

Yes because as already noted elsewhere this will be used as data to 'prove' there is no overseas interest.

I haven't had one either

this is an afterthought mickey mouse plan so the club can claim they did something...

i am sure they are expecting little to no adoption.

Prolly be a gopro camera stuck on a press box railing.

They don't want people sitting at home or in the pub watching games, they want them in the stadiums over paying for shite food and drink, they are as usual taking the piss out of the fans.
