Better Call Saul - Series 3

Thought it was brilliant how they revealed Gus. Blurred in the background..took me a few seconds to realise.

I think Gilligan is getting more and more tempted to make it like Breaking Bad- the Mike stuff is getting more intense and is very Breaking Bad.
No mistaking that yellow shirt! It was great seeing Mike and Jimmy together too. How long was that scene in Gus's place when Jimmy was checking out the knapsack? I don't mind it - but I suppose that's the kind of thing that some people, used to watching short scenes forever cut into another short scene (no concentration?) don't like.

Yeah its a lot slower paced but I'm really liking that. It takes a bit of getting used to but is absorbing just taking in the tension of the scene. What a brilliant show.

Its starting to get really good now I recon just like BB started off quite slow and really got great into the seasons.

I thought it was quite brilliant towards the end of the last series with Jimmy and Chuck. But the stakes have been slightly raised with Jimmy and Mike coming together...and Gus hovering in the background.

Spoilersssss

I think it's great, jimmy has fallen hook line and sinker for chucks plan and this I guess is the start of the slide towards his Saul persona. Kim being his moral side works really well for me however it's starting to unravel this series.

Mike is fantastic, it's just a shame we know how Saul concludes, with it picking up halfway through breaking bad, so you kinda know nothing too bad is going to happen to Mike.

Loved the Howard scene in the last episode and it's great seeing how Gus is a step ahead of Mike and will probably ultimately be that impressed with his perseverance he'll offer him a job.

I've loved everything with Mike. He's a great character actor.

All of the lawyer stuff has been a bit of a drag. We all know what will happen to Jimmy/Saul so the slow burn in getting to the point is frustrating. It's only Kim that holds my attention. I wonder what happens to her.

Either way, I've been a big Odenkirk fan for a good 25 years and I'm delighted he fell into the role of a lifetime.
Mike is the only reason I watch. I wish the whole programme was about him. The lawyer stuff with Jimmy is such a drag and bores me.

I know a few on here have said that but I really like the character of Jimmy. And I think an hour of Mike sitting doing surveillance would be too much for me. I think they balance each other out and provide a change of pace.

Thing is we all know what Jimmy was done was bad but I just despise chuck. Makes such good writing that

The camera work is tremendous as has been said before

They use the locations brilliantly

Re the storm drains and the mountain road in this episode

Wish Howard would just fuck chuck off

Maybe he does in the end . Surely chuck ends up dead, while we know Jimmy survives

Episode 2 anyone? Absolutely brilliant as two separate games of cat and mouse take place Jimmy and Chuck and Mike and the person tracking him. Some lovely touches - Howard climbing over a series of back walls and straightening his jacket and tie each time, and Jimmy rolling the masking tape meticulously off the painted wall, as Chuck had instructed last week. Wonderful stuff.
I even thought the line in the road was a reference to Jimmy mucking up the paint job . When mike picks up the phone the road lines have splodges

It's a great series for obsessives

Wow! I didn't notice that (wish I had!) but would guess that you'd be right. Trouble is it's so long since I watched BB I'm never going to get any of the links to that either.
I find the Jimmy/Chuck thing so sad.

Takes a good actor to play such an asshole as chuck

Who was mike going to assassinate when he got the 'dont' message?
