This thread just goes to show that there really is some clueless drivers on the road. It's common sense for every driver to let one car in when it comes to situations like that, it's when people start expecting to have the right of way and expect you to let them in is when it pisses me off and fucks the whole routine up.

Funnily enough it's usually Audi drivers, Victims of the road those lot.

He had already let that Fiesta in, then two A1's come up right at the last minute. The first one gets in, far enough, but a bit cheeky.
I wish it has been concrete sections closing her lane, not the 'bollards' she claims. She is the kind of fool that manages to crash into roundabouts.

You say that, then your second paragraph shows that it's you that's clueless.

Okay then, I see I have touched a nerve there. Just shown yourself up to be the exact driver that I'm talking about.

It's a total lack of consideration for other drivers and self entitlement that annoys me.

Rule 134
You should follow the signs and road markings and get into the lane as directed. In congested road conditions do not change lanes unnecessarily. Merging in turn is recommended but only if safe and appropriate when vehicles are travelling at a very low speed, e.g. when approaching road works or a road traffic incident. It is not recommended at high speed.

The only lack of consideration came from the A1. Anyone with half a brain would be looking ahead, seeing the lane was closing and that he had already let a car in, plus the car in front of him had, and not expecting him to let anyone else in, when he was right on top of the closure.

So are you seriously saying if I go from my A3 to my mates Golf (which has the same chassis and looks similar inside) my driving changes? If I drive like a twat in the Audi it means I've always drove like a twat.
I honestly don't know why you get jealous of Audi drivers - they're not even our cars man :lol:

Wrong.
The lane is supposed to be used until you reach the closure. That is the whole idea of it.

People taking offence and straddling the two lanes etc to 'police' people who are obeying the highway code, should have to re-take their tests.
Can be. Yes, but the cars should be looking to merge before that.

The funny thing is, she used the lane correctly, she just doesn't think her financed little shitter should have to give way, when confronted with a closed lane.

Some women drivers, man. I was on the A690 the other week, I had joined at Houghton Cut (heading to Sunderland), in the inside lane. A car moved into the outside (middle at that point) lane to let me, then as I accelerated from 40ish to 50ish, and pulled away from it a little, it stayed in the outside lane for no reason.
About quarter of a mile down the road, I encounter a slower car in front of me, by the this time, the other car was sitting on my quarter.
It could see I would want to overtake, but did not flash, nor speed up or slow down. So I signalled and remained in the lane, as you do, and she blasted her horn at me and then overtook and shouted obscenities. When I pulled up alongside her at the lights, I just laughed in her daft face.

I swear from the way that some people yank on the wheel and blindly change lanes, that they think the indicators are connected to the steering wheel.

Bit clueless you mind.

Says he who doesn't understand how to merge from two lanes to one.

But she sped up to nip in and then she would have had to slow and in turn slowing the van. This isn't safe driving. This is the driving of c*nts who think they own the road.

One could say the van driver thinks he owns the road.

There was plenty room to let her in. Merge in turn. It's not a hard concept however it goes against or 'Britishness' of queuing.

Saying that I wouldn't gan to the end of the lane. People would think I was pushing in.;)
