Of course we want everyone in the North East to support Durham CCC.
They are the local 1st Class County Cricket Club for all our region.
Remember some players have come from North of the River Tyne to represent us and represent England, something we should all be proud of.
I am Durham born and bread and an SAFC lifelong supporter but I welcome anyone who supports DCCC whatever other allegiances they have.
So when did your loyalties change from Northumberland to DCCC? No interest in minor counties cricket now? Should DCCC do a ' Milton Keynes Dons' and shift north of the Tyne, due to financial reasons of course.Whereas I'm from north of Newcastle, despise the Mags but love SAFC and DCCC.

in a state of disrepair, but still in Ashbrooke. It hasnt movedWhere the fuckin hell's Ashbrooke in all of this.
Being historically the largest town or city in County Durham, you would think they'd have been in there pitchin'in a state of disrepair, but still in Ashbrooke. It hasnt moved
I think the reasons were mentioned earlier in the conversation but there has been little spent in the last few years so i guess not suitableBeing historically the largest town or city in County Durham, you would think they'd have been in there pitchin'

anywhere which is part of a sports club will see cricket the poor relation. From what I've heard, cricket is at the bottom of the pile at present at Ashbrooke. Similar to South Shields where I've heard cricket is the poorer relation there as well.

South Northumberland Durham. The new franchise name.Friggin hell! What part of DCCC representing the region do you really not get? Who gives a shit if his loyalties did or didn't change? You make this sound ridiculously tribal like football
The club's supporter base stretches as far north as scotland and across into parts of Cumbria. Durham are not going to leave CLS. They may play more games at SN which is a positive thing. Hopefully other out grounds will be utilised to
If franchise cricket comes in, then summit Newcastle based could possiibly happen - not sure where mind - but then that club won't be DCCC, it'll be a new club franchise
you are getting really boring now like. Dont comment, dont go to the game and life will be rosy for youSouth Northumberland Durham. The new franchise name.

Imagine how fucked Durham would be if no one from outside the county could come and support them.
Far too many people apply football rivalries to cricket. People in Newcastle/Northumberland want to watch first class cricket and so Durham are the only realistic option to support. Also cricket is a very small sport by comparison to football and so a lot of these 'should be Northumberland supporters' actually know a lot of people involved with the first class county and so of course there will be a feeling of affiliation and support.
But I guess if a couple of fuckwits on a message board don't want people from outside their imaginary lines supporting 'their local club' then they'll maybe not spend their hard earned money that Durham so desperately need travelling to watch.
Hypothetically, let's say I'm really struggling to pick a football team to support. I've just had a quick check on Google to find out what county I'm in as from reading the thread it's important to support someone within the same imaginary walls as me but I can't believe it - I'm in tune and wear and so are both NUFC and SAFC?!
Jesus I would be in a right pickle if your imaginary line/who to support rules were applied to football!
It's a completely different thingYoure missing my point- I wasnt criticising Mags supporting Durham- I think its great. Its just a bit weird how they in the same breath have so much bitterness towards SAFC.
