Didn't Burnley fail the year before?
They're making a better fist of it this time.
The mags might struggle, they'd definitely be one on the 10 or 11 teams who will start the season as potential relegation candidates. I just can't see them finishing below the two teams that come up with them and we we all know all the promoted teams being relegated is as common as rocking horse shite.

Difference being the other promoted us fans don't have the same expectations and demands. Newcastle fans won't be happy just being back, they see it as right to not only be in that division but to be competing. As Barton said, their crowd can make the difference, in a negative way, and make the players wilt (again).

I know the ambitions of your own club are merely to finish 17th every season, but its really not breaking the bank to hope to finish 9th or 10th in our first season back with a top quality manager considering the poor standard in the current premier league considering we were 3 points away from doing just that when we came back up last time.

Do I think we have a divine right to do it? No. Do I think its nailed on, absolutely not, but its not beyond the realms of possibility.
With a back line of yedlin, Clarke, lascelles and dummet there's only one place Newcastle are gannin

Maybe, as I said they'll start as one of 10 or 11 who might go down just think they'll have more financial clout than a lot of other clubs. They've made up their loss of income this season by making 30m in the transfer market

They're honking, have a cheque book manager who is a bottle job and an owner not prepared to throw big money at a premier league team.

Cos they can't extend the ground?

Could be 65,000 capacity if they were able dismantle Leazes Terrace.

However good or bad they are they've conceded the least goals in the 2nd division which means the other promoted teams defences will fare worse.
Everyone knows (even they do I presume) they'll start relegation candidates but I think they'll have enough.
Then again this is the first season in a good few years where I thought we wouldn't struggle.

We'll know this time next year mate.
It's just that we all know bridging the gap isn't too difficult the majority of promoted teams do it.

Typical Bruce. A winless run starts and he has no idea how to turn it around, even with the most expensive team in the Championship

With Steve McClaren as manager, who is now struggling to get Derby into the top 10 of the championship.

What's the table look like since he took over?

He took over 12th Oct.

Bruce will turn them round.

Mid table this season then wouldn't be surprised to see them win the league next year. Some good players in their squad.

I'd have any of Chester, Grealish, Kodja, Hogan here. Some people on here were desperate for us to sign Hourihane too.

You'd have dreamed for 17th last season

They literally have fuck all better to do, plus they give away 15k free tickets.[/QUOTE

Really ?, what on top of 38'000 season tickets and offering the opposition 3000+ ? . Obsessed, bitter kernt !

Because they do have loyal and fanatical support like us.
One thing is for sure, had they not retained Benitez as manager on relegation and/or performed like say Villa from the start of this season, the true fans would have regularly numbered 30,000
They have 40000+ season ticket holders apparently so even if nobody else bought a match day ticket and not one away fan turned up the average would be that.
