Last time I saw him was in Terminus when it re-opened prior to Everton match. 1st time I met him was in tree in late 80s
Always got on very well with my dad. Think he told him off one day for swearing in front of me mam and that was that

Aye, always acknowledges when he sees me. Used to bump into him occasionalyl when I used to travel away regularly
Seen him years ago on train to Hibs pre season, told me yo get off the stop before which we were anyway as staying in Edinburgh so needed to hoy bags in.
Think it was lively that day and we never even made the match!

Not that I went, but it was lively. He would have looked after you!

I didn't have an option on the stop I was getting off

We got checked in early had a bit carry on and I ended bucking some Geordie woman who was on a hen party with her daughter

Agree with all both you & Hank say, but there has been certain occasions when it was looked for, not mass gangs or owt, but for eg, FW & brother PW asked me if I fancied a walk during the game when away at Charlton once. I followed them into their covered end & an immediate "let's have em" type of shout from FW. Their lot were firstly shocked (3 taking on their end :) ) & then came flooding into us.
As you say Riv, knowing when to run was a skill, painfully learned ;)

That could be the day some Millwall arranged to be there, I remember F being a bit agitated.

I remember, after the game, some Millwall jumped onto a double decker bus after attacking a few Sunderland and not doing too well.

Some of our lot jumped on as well and the driver closed the doors then drove off

Was that Ollie Burton's testimonial in 73 I think ?? the other lad who went on with him was my brother ended up bricked and in Newcastle General

Didn't even make it out the Central station for that match there was that many of the ***** waiting , ended up getting escorted back to the train by the police for our own safety. To say we were relieved was an understatement .

It was Brighton - Boto where at Southampton.

Three bus loads of Vauxies were involved with the shenanigans iirc.

That was the game where the police made the Sunderland fans take of their DM boots before entering the ground!

Yep, and The home suppor aters were drinking beer while we didnt even have food outlet

There was 2 on the bike, the lad on the back put the bus window out with a brick as they sped past.
We followed them into the nearby housing estate and found them just about to put the bike into a shed. They clocked us and the lad with the bike jumped on and tried to drive through us at 60 mph. TC caught him a beauty bang on the chin and him and the bike ended up in a heap.

Mentioning the motorbike reminds me of when went to Oldham in the winter in the 70's , our bus was full so this lad followed our bus all the way to Oldham on his motorbike, poor bugger was hypothermic when he was peeled off his bike when we got there.

could that have been brighton away one have the lads left the colliery inn ,thornley jumped on the bus expecting a lift to wheatley hill bus was going in wrong direction ,frankie and the lads would not let him off woke up in brighton, his son travels with frankie now
Is it true the peterlee bus once brought a sheep back home on the bus

;)

For a reason I can't remember me and @Pedro went to a Roker Park match on my motorbike.

We left Sunderland in the dark, as it was a night match, and set off down the A1.

We'd reached Catterick and I was bored so doing about 90mph and really wanting to get home.

Pete started shouting and hitting me on the back so I assumed he was scared and slowed down a bit ..... but he kept shouting until I had to stop the bike.

When we pulled up he explained that he'd opened his visor to light a tab and the wind had blown out one his contact lenses

He wanted me to turn round, both back 3 miles and look for it ...... he'd had a few mind ;)

Some ginger lad starting on me at Colchester for asking some fans if there were any spare tickets going. Apparently I just was jumping some sort of queuing system that I knew nothing about...

He looked canny hard mind, would definitely have knacked me so I backed down very easily

Had a ticket for the home end, but the stewards let me in the away end anyway  Canny day apart from the football bit
