In the spirit of these posts, and a story I've told before on here, a memorable occasion was when we crossed paths with the Chelsea Headhunters in the Roker Hotel. Cant remember the year but it must have been 1986 or 1987. There was 5 of us and we bumped into about 10 0f them.
Kevin or Mackie from Hexham was raging because the same people (he actually recognised two of them) had attacked him along with women and kids on the tube on the way to Stamford Bridge for the semi-final in 1985.
They were sitting in the Roker Hotel with their feet on the table laughing arrogantly when we arrived.
Mackie told us to leave to even up the numbers. 10 onto 3.
I've never seen 10 people take a worse kicking. The bar staff were intervening to save them.
I'll never forget that tube journey or the whole day.
How someone wasn't actually killed is still a mystery.
