Can't remember if it was a scorpion, but did have a tattoo on his neck when it was only wrongun's who did it, not hipsters & male models like now. Absolutely fearsome looking fella who you wouldn't forget in a hurry. Was on my bus down to the infamous Milk Cup Semi Final at Chelsea.
By the way, he wasn't just a random bald bloke, he was a a proper massive skinheed.
Sounds like the fella who was in "dixons" before a match, picked the stripper up on his shoulder and ran out of the fire exit with her.

anyone on here in this picture ??

firkin hell, over 18000 views, well done @Reiver

If thats the Chelsea match at Roker in 1975 then yes, I was over by the staircase exit in top left of the pic. There was hell on all game that day, we got chased by cockneys as soon as we got in through the turnstiles as they were all already inside the Roker. They were forced back over to the clockstand half of the end once more SAFC got into the ground. There was scraps going on all game. I remember one of their ringleaders being an older bloke always on the divide of the fans mouthing off then one of our lot ran across and smacked him right in the gob which sent him mental. It took about 4 coppers to grab him and drag him down the stairs to get him out of there.

Indeed, Sammy was nuts a fervent fan but easily led or coaxed to do things.

Sammy always seemed to have younger kids with him, his gang seeing hisname reminds me of some of the real handy lads Fogey, Lothian etc, there were a good few but fucked with the names .

Got lifted back in the 80s at Hull along with a few others including Sammy. Police locked us in the back of a police horse transporter until after the game when they chucked us out to make room for the nags.

Aye, top ender but we all knocked about together. Great days from the 3rd division through to the late 90s gannin all ower.
You know Reedy then?

Did they leave Sammy in?
:):)

Was always the same mate late 70's and 80's. The big clubs with decent followings would often get a surprise from the smaller clubs. It used to bring the local nutters out in force.
All of those you mention and many more Plymouth, Shrewsbury, Northampton, Gillingham etc

Plymouth fan killed at Swindon and have been told by a few Millwall fans over the years that Swindon gave them a few battles.

Worse was travelling away some games without numbers.
Man Utd fans in with Crewe and Rochdale to name a few.......FA Cup going to non league Towns.

Going to football now is different.........
True.you lot c.s gassed a few of our lot on the tube at Wembley. Now no one was expecting that.:)

This is a thread about characters and, love him or hate him, Sammy was a character.

There have been harder blokes, better supporters and less corrupt raffle organisers ...... but a lot of them are gone and forgotten whereas the 'legend of the chin' lives on
