I think Yedders will perform well under Rafa , but he is a very limited footballer. The spanish lad we are after is a very solid defender who is strong and a great passer of the ball but apparently needs to work on his crossing.........from what I have read.

Problem is we seem to be setting our transfer aspirations in a similar place to championship clubs..... If we had signed yedlin it would have been seen as a big signing for us based on players landed so far

There's no doubting it's been awful over the last few weeks but then signing some fucker because they're there isn't the answer either. We've done that before to bulk up the squad and ended up having to pay the fuckers off as nobody wanted them. This Manquilo looks much better and I know people who have watched him and been impressed. I actually mean in the flesh as well not on the Internet or TV.

Because PVA is an extremely poor defender. And Yedlin is worse. PVA is a lot more useful as he can help the offensive and score vital goals, Yedlin can't. To sign a worse defender than PVA for 5m would be a big mistake IMO.

I'd have happily taken him back for the position Love is in now, a "promising" right back as back up to our main RB - although Love so far appears massively inferior to Yedlin. The main problem is that we haven't signed that main RB yet.

Yedlin will cost 10x more than we paid for love though. So it wasn't going to happen. £5m for a back up RB when we've already got one wouldn't make sense for us.
