Mainstand seats for me, what stood out was the Pompey lot taking most of the roker end iirc.

Great match.

Lot's of police on horses afterwards and trouble.

Was that bell ringing tosser there?
I know John Westwood would have been there - Mr Portsmouth FC because love him or loathe him he travelled everywhere back then. Probably still does.

RP was packed for this one & the confirmed gate of only 21,309 (StatCat) seemed well out to me.
Well me and Marc Holdsworth were two who were let in the Fulwell as inexplicably never realised this was all-ticket. Bloke wouldn't take a penny. Made it all the sweeter. Loads of Pompey all over the place but we saw no bother.

According to Portsmouth's football hooligan book, they brought 8000 up. Only exaggerated their numbers by about 3000, which is a reasonably honest account for a football hooligan memoir, fair play to them.

He also broke a large antique mirror near the changing rooms

Was forced to pay for it
A mate worked for the club at the time, said Paul Walsh was the biggest twat of a footballer ever. Mate's 11 year old son asked him for an autograph, he told him to fuck off

Had a great time that day.

The Fulwell End was packed and noisy, we took turns hoisting each other up on our shoulders ...... incredible!

We bumped into a minibus load of Portsmouth, at Wetherby, on our way back to Mansfield.

Drank with them for an hour then the bastards attacked us when we went outside ........ wankers.

Was anderton playing for them that day, or had he signed for spurs
Go on statcat man !!!

He had a rep as a wanker and comes across as one on sky

Went to Pompey when we drew 3-3.
Drank in pub near ground and got no bother.
Marco scored a snorter

My first season as a season ticket holder. This is the game that stood out. Don Goodman two penalties. I was sitting in the main stand Roker wing & remember a couple of their lads getting into the track behind the goal in the Roker end & wrestling with a steward.

There is footage on youtube. Search for portsmouth season review 1992- 1993 and it is around an hour and 2 minutes into
it.
The hammering totally screwed their promotion hopes. They missed out on goal difference by one goal.

Great find that mate.

Any memories from this one, Portsmouth were heading for promotion, had won their last 5 games and we were heading for relegation. Somehow we absolutely battered them winning 4-1, they missed out on promotion and we stayed up...just. Would love to see some footage of the game. It was one of those games where you are just hoping the lads could do it and they did.

Spent the afternoon in the pub with some Portsmouth fans. Had great afternoon and I was only 20

My brother in laws mate got a severe kicking in the shelter deck after the match.
