The plane fly past is back on...

I think you seriously underestimate other football fans. They WILL notice and they WILL think its cheap and pathetic and as a result our fans will become err like the mags in their view.

Take the higher ground, be the bigger man and leave it be.

I think other fans and the media will think it's hilarious given the inflated view of themselves the Mags are famous for.

And some Mags will welcome it as a stick to beat Ashley with.

Not really arsed what other fans think tbh. If it winds up the mags even a little bit it'll be mission accomplished for me. Plus it's raising a bit of extra cash for charity. Win win situation.

And we were 100% right.

Now we have fans trying to outdo them in being pathetic. Seems I am a lone voice and this ridiculous idea will actually take off. This will come back to haunt us and will take years to shake off. Just give the cash to charity and let it be.

So a load of people have donated hard earned money because they'd like to see a plane taking the piss over st James' and more, seemingly just because you don't like it and think some away fans might "pull you up" over it, we should say "thanks for your money lads but we've fucked it off and decided it's all just going to charity". As if that would show us in a great light!

Seriously can't believe the way you're going on here tbh. You "pulled" done Burnley fans over it? If some sanctimonious twat tried pulling me over anything at an away game is tell them to go fuck themselves.

And as for it being advertised in advance, I think you overestimate how many people read or know of these forums. Of the 50000 or so in their ground that day, very few we'll have seen Twitter or the SMB discussing this. I remember the days we tried to start Bob Murray protests on here (waving white flags etc) and about 95% of people had no idea what the fuck we were talking about. Social media presence has increased by then but not as much as you'd imagine

If we are in the relegation zone come the fly by surely the Mags (at least the ones that can read) will just shrug their shoulders and think ''ah well, you're going down, who gives a fuck and anyway we did five in a row in recent history anyway'', we can never deny being obsessed with them in the future if we are gloating over one (well, five) games against them whilst being on the verge of becoming a Championship club.

Each to their own though. Will Sky even show the plane? I can see them ignoring it all together.

It's like something Steve Wraith would be involved in. I'm sure some people would find it amusing, but most would be embarrassed by the whole thing.

I bet Tubes off Soccer AM thinks it's a hilarious idea. Bantersaurus.

Aye cos the united fans flying a moyes out banner over the ground makes me think so less of united fans.

Oh wait most sane people have forgotten about it and don't give a fuck. The only people who will remember or care will be the scum. They'll be itching to do something back in return.

I have to agree with you on this one.
This could come back to bite us on the arse IF we get relegated.
Imagine first game of new season in chship v Ipswich and a plane flies over saying '' wheez laughing now''

:oops::oops::oops:

Donate the money to chairty man, What an embarrasment this would be.

As I've mentioned, it would be a lot worse if people donated towards a fly past and then some sanctimonious decision was taken to fuck it off and give their money to charity. Giving to charity is a good thing to do, most of us do it to some level or other, but I wouldn't want my money to be taken under false pretenses and given to charity, which is exactly what this would be if we stopped now. People have agreed that if it can't be done for some reason the money should be donated, or if we have money left over afterwards, but currently we seem well on target to raise the funds, it'd be a joke if we decided to give people's money away now.

Also, next year when the overpaid lazy arse holes have their pre match team talk, all the manager would need to say is "remember the plane" and they'll be well up for the match...

Its a bit of fun ffs do u not think they wid fo this and worse if it was the other way round and hopefully will raise money for charity to. God sum people really dont have a sense of humour

I assume you're trying to say here that they would do the same if it was the other way around. That's exactly why some people are saying it's a bad idea, seeing as though we laugh at them for being sad and pathetic.

If you like it and want to donate/do it then fine, that's your prerogative, but justifying it by saying things like 'they'd do it to us' is just daft. No doubt you'll be the first to laugh at them when they do something silly.

We'd have a lot more to worry about than them flying a plane past us if we got relegated tbh. I'd see it in the sky, think "bastards" and get on with my life, it wouldn't really matter

Its that small time i cant believe people are taking it seriously.
