Me mam used to get us a bag of milk bottle sweets from the sweet shop and I always remember the abattoir like smells from the butchers.

Also remember the SAFC shop in there which was the best bit.

I only go for the chips, I come up once a year, it's not a bad as Norfolk
Why aye. JW's better than the whole of Norfolk. Other than the odd dodgy spot in Yarmouth I'm struggling to find many places in Norfolk such a shit tip. Maybe I just got lucky with all my visits.

I've just read your post out to the wife and now she wants us to have a special name for the place too.
'Skunkie Black and Whites stinky like Newcastle' is the best we've come up with, catchy and witty.

Good plan.

Fruit and veg bit is class. Go there and realise how much supermarkets rip you off for fresh produce. Mind half the fatties slagging the place off on here probably don't eat fruit and veg so no matter.

Aye but I bet it only sells poor people vegetables like swedes and carrots and that. I get my curly kale, asparagus, fennel and chicory from Waitrose.

Sells all of that shite marra, I know cos my lass makes me buy that kale rubbish for her. Personally would rather eat seaweed.

:lol: agreed mate, I was just on a fishing trip.

I do love a sparagus or two though.

sell all of that & various weird oriental veg i've nivver heard of like bok choy.
I even get lusharoony ghost chilies from there.

I buy my lemons, beetroot and broccoli off the market. Prices are the same and quality about the same as Sainsbury's next door.

I remember when the club shop was just at the entrance
My 1st thoughts when I read the thread title.I remember it being popular for selling those SAFC wooly hats with a patch of rangers/Celtic on,(why)it was fashionable to cut the Pom Pom off the top??

How old are you man! My mam is in her early eighties and she talks about having those in the forties.
I was ony a bairn then, man... 6 or 7... Can still remember shopping in there wimmee Ma...
Ah was a favourite of Mr and Mrs Ibbottson: they use to gerruz standing on their trellis table and singing "Once I built a railroad, to the Sky... Bricks and Mortar and Lime..." And Ah use to purra reet grunt in me voice when Ah got to the part "Twenty Thousand boots went marching through hell... And I was the man with the gun..." Use to give me Ma two-pennyworth of Pease Pudding when Ah finished...
