this YouTube clip is probably seb but would support what Ajax is saying. Plays deep and knocks the ball on to another player. He does one lovely pass over the top and seems decent in the air but doesn't do a whole lot Cattermole or any other professional footballer couldn't do. Saying that you can only play the position you've been given so it is difficult to judge.
Spent the whole video wanking to Jordan Henderson's movement.

Do you ever post anything positive about SAFC? A link would be handy!

I'm just posting the opinions of the Everton fans on a forum like ours. It is of interest to many on here, if you don't want to discuss the potential merits / downsides of our new player move on. It's not about being positive or negative it's about discussion. Don't be so childish.

And the opinions of a football board should be merited as gospel? He's a good player and will definitely improve our midfield. Why on earth you're looking for negatives again baffles me. It could be that you're trying to look for things to support your previous agenda of calling out Congerton. Worried he is actually pulling off a decent window now?

 I'm just posting what an Everton forum thinks of our new player. Would you prefer we brush it under the carpet and pretend it isn't true? Grow up. It's good to get their opinions, they've seen him play more than anyone.
I'd rather we just waited until he'd played half a season for us and then formed our own judgements.

so no link to something positive eh???;)
This is typical fans though, slag players off when they leave (FFS even happened to SKP).
Who, from our recent players, would you give a glowing reference to?

Tremendous, you go to the forum of a club who a young talent snubbed for their neighbours to ask for opinions as to his ability?

I wonder what response somebody would get if they asked us our opinions of ginger jack when he leaves the mags? I am really sure it would be a really balanced and honest reflection of his true ability :rolleyes::lol::lol:

If you can keep him fit then he will be a good signing. Still young and has a lot of talent. Just a shame he hasn't reached his potential as of yet, but hopefully he will do a good job for you.

I remember West Brom fans waxing lyrical about Kevin Kilbane when we bought him. . .

My guess would be Bardsley &, Collins, both of whom were triers.

I wrote him off, totally, after seeing him in his first home game.

Good wingers (imho) should run with the ball as though it's tied to their bootlaces.

All I saw Kilbane do, in that first game, was to push it a yard or so in front of him and chase after it and he never did any differently after that!

Technically, The lads got it all, two good feet, good range of passing, got a shot on him, quick, strong, can go past players.

Unfortunately the complete lack of confidence, drive, desire and awareness in his head render him utter garbage.

oh dear, we have craig gardner on our hands
Don't recognise Craig Gardner on 6 of the 7 attributes:confused:

Hes playing like that cos thats the position hes being asked to play in that game, a but like cattermole does here.

Rodwell can play anywhere in the middle and to decide thats what his whole game is based around after watching 4 minutes is ridiculous
Especially when theres clips of him bursting into the box for man city and getting 2 against norwich
Aye I did say that, mate. I said he could only play the position he's been asked to so please don't call me ridiculous.

JUst a coincidence what you hoyed up was the negative efc views and 'conveniently ' left out the majority of views? It's about discussion... a discussion on your terms

I don't think we're signing him to play as deep as he was deployed to do so on that video. We're well covered with Cattermole and Bridcutt in that position. He'll be playing similarly to where Colback and Larsson were in our good run in, in my opinion.
Yeah I think you're right.

From what I've seen of Rodwell he is on a par with Jordan Henderson. Both good young midfielders but neither of them are the finished article.

If he can get and stay fit he could be an excellent signing. Happy we've signed him.

Hope the lad does well for you guys! He's a good player but sadly has hamstrings made off glass, would often play 6-7 games then pull his hamstring and be out for a couple of weeks. Mentally wise I don't really have an opinion other than he can sometimes look like he doesn't have fight or aggression in him, theirs a saying we had that he was more Birkdale than Kirkdale as he didn't have that tenacity at times to get stuck in for the ball.

All in all its a risky signing but one that could pay off for you lads providing he keeps fit (a big if)

Good luck Jack! hope he does well for you lads and for himself as he comes across as a nice lad

Just read this post which again reminds me of Henderson. Henderson is a nice lad from a good area of Sunderland. He hasn't got that nasty streak, can't tackle for toffee.

City signed him to meet their home-grown quota, sorry to burst your bubble that they signed him cause of his mad skillz.

Although he has the potential to be a canny player if he can stay fit, so I'll agree with you on that point.

That's horseshite on a grand scale. They bought him because he was a promising, young talent, in the same way Blackburn bought Shearer, Chelsea bought Lampard and Man Utd have just bought Shaw etc. etc.

You can read the posts for yourself. Try not to take life so seriously.

The game where within five minutes of coming on he created a goal for Kevin Phillips with a superb cross to the back post after beating his man............;)
