We've had plenty of close Ashes recently and been on the wrong end of a few one-sided ones in recent memory. It's great to be on the right end of an annihilation at the moment.

I hope we stay out there for now. Let Root have a go at the double ton, then put them in before lunch tomorrow.

We are here to win a test match, not give Root (as well as he's played) statistical baubles.

Let's give ourselves as much time as possible to bowl these out. We are wasting overs here.

It's a minor complaint really but we aren't ruthless enough when he have our foot on the opposition's throat.

Eh? yesterday you said it would be a close run series :-?

Like I said above I obviously overestimated them. I don't have any problem admitting when I was wrong unlike some folks.

I was basing my projection on England not being as good as people said they were and Australia better, but Australia have been so bad that England's failings haven't been an issue. Can't see them being as bad as this again but dosent matter, they'd have to raise their game significantly to compete with England at present. Harris aside in the attack its a cant bat can't bowl situation really. It's about as exciting as a series against WI or NZ at present as a result, really not fussed. And England are being massively over cautious to boot so there's not even the thrill of the hunt as it were. Just average cricket with one side dominating in a polite manner.

Whats everyone complaining about. It is day 3.

If we bowl first thing tomorrow we will have 180 overs to bowl them out. 3 New balls if needs be. Australia will have to go at 3 an over. Swann bowling at left handers with the rough. Variable bounce for the seamers.

Test cricket is 5 days and this is our attempt to completely dominate them.

In my opinion that is exactly what we're being now. They know they're beaten and want it over. We've got time to win the game and have some fun while we're at it. They've enjoyed smashing us enough times. Let's inflict as much pain on them as possible.

Fair enough mate. I'm splitting hairs really as we'll win this easily regardless but I would have shoved Watson and Rogers in tonight.

I'd go along with this. I'd bat another session tomorrow tbh, really demoralise them. 5 sessions is more than enough to pick up the 10 wickets required against this batting line-up. We could end up winning by 400 runs or something, real show of domination.

bat the rest of today then go out and bat one over tomorrow morning then declare. Lets take the piss out of them and mess with their heads.

I think this is being forgotten. Lead by 500+ and bowl them out for under 200. That's the plan!

Aside from Clarke, I'm not sure which of this Australian team would be in the frame for the England side. Siddle probably instead of Bresnan?

I'd make them field for another 30 mins tops - don't want to overdo it, and remember, this is the UK and rain is ALWAYS a possibility

Fair one. First thing they should do is bring Lyon back because they need a proper spinner in there who can tie up an end AND bowl wicket taking deliveries. They wont though cos they are obessing over Agar (). Also they have too many batsmen who play in a more of a limited overs manner, so chances are always there to be had.....

Saying all that, good! Nothing better than seeing the Convicts getting physically and mentally destroyed 8-)

Harris is their best bowler. A fit Harris takes the new ball with Jimmy, Clarke at 6, other than that it's all Englishmen.
