Hopefully get to lunch 120- 4/5
Bat till tea 230-7/8

Giving a lead of 460 by tea, bat till 500 lead and get a couple wickets before the close.
Ideal scenario imo.

Been saying that about KP for a while now. Why the selectors brought him back staggers me, we won in India without him, he should be told to sling his hook and join the global 20-20 mercanary circus.

umm No we didn't

Bat them out of the game setting a target they'll never get and have plenty time with the weather forecast on a pitch which will get more worn and crack up to bowl them out.

I disagreed with batting again at Headingley against NZ because the forecast was shite (we still won like). Here, there are no such problems.

The alternative would have been to put them back in on a good batting pitch giving our bowlers more work. Say they'd managed to get 350-400 in their 2nd innings, we'd then have a tricky little target on a worn pitch.

Agreed,

They only need a 200 run 2nd innings to set them 430

we'll see soon enough ;-)
he who laughs last etc . . . . (is usually stupid lol)

Are the usual knackers worried again? 260 odd for 3. We are streets ahead.

wtf is this shit!

Throwing wickets away after the bowlers put them in a great position. The arrogance of batsmen?

The last time we bowled Aus out for less than 150 must have been 50 years ago?

idiots

looks like youre the idiot :oops:

Nee chance. We will just fling the bat a bit, get all out around 140, leaving the Aussies a highly improbably 375-380 to win.

lol

98 all out in December 2010 m8.

Australia probably have their worst side for fifty years anyway.

You never know, but I would rather be in our shoes than theirs.

we will make 230 -250 IMO setting them 460 plus to win. Theres not a chance that they will knock that off on a day 4 pitch. England will win by 200 runs

I hate the ashes

For the simple reason the cricket board is full of twats

We will move 2-0 up

He averages nearly 50 and is one of the best players in the world.

Happy?

Hopefully it'll get a bit better when the football season gets underway. And it shouldn't be as bad when we're over there this winter. I can't believe there is even a debate about who is in a better position to win this match. You can tell the PF bed wetters have invaded.

Highest fourth innings run chase at Lords was 344. And that was from a great West Indies team featuring the likes of Greenidge, Haynes and Richards.

Oh dear...

Cricket forum goes uber.

What a bell.

Hoping for a good knock from root to cement his place at the top of the order. Series could be over soon the way its going, not that i am complaining.

Still not convinced by Bairstow and surprised Taylor hasn't been involved. Maybe will get his chance in the next 12 months. Long term replacement for Trott in my view.

Two sessions to bat tomorrow then roll them over.

I dont hate the ashes but all ya points are very valid.

I know  we have the game almost sewn up already. Utterly clueless some folk.

First point - exactly. That just further underlines the fact that we are in an utterly dominant position. Australia would have to knock 7 wickets over tomorrow for 80 runs and then complete an historic Lords run chase with a fairly weak batting line up to beat us

Second point - there has been a noticeable difference in peoples perceptions of game situations on this forum in the last couple of tests. Definitely seems more reactionary and knee jerkier than usual.

He is correct though. At least i hope he is cos the alternative is that we simply have many a clueless person knocking about.

Even if they are clueless about the game and make complete arses of themselves?

Wey aye, it's a good laugh and it keeps it interesting when there's different opinions.

I've heard some of the commentators on sky, talksport and 5live make right arses of themselves since Trent bridge, the so called experts.

One of the commentators on 5 live or talksport had England in massive trouble, even before they had chance to bowl at TB.

It would be no fun if everyone was correct.

These match threads are nearly as good as the SAFC ones on PF

Batsman hits a 4 - Best player in the world, looks class this lad.

Next ball batsman gets out - Shite. Get rid, bring Compton back.

Certainly gets me through the day at work quicker reading all this shite. Keep it coming lads!

i'm over the moon, i dreamt last night that some middle aged woman rescued the aussie batting and they had a first innings lead on us....

very relieved here.
