Bump for Brandon ;-)

Broad still a doubt with his shoulder. I bet if he's out Finn will keep his place and onions still won't get a game

He won't, England would never go into a game with three number 11's. As wrong as it is Bresnan would be in as much for his batting as his bowling.

But there'd only be 2 , jimmy and onions....

Both capable of blocking for half an hour

Can't quite see what the obsession is about everyone batting myself. Bowling teams is is more valuable, ask Ashton agar

A hint perhaps that Finn will miss out??

Depend on the wicket for me. If they are going to prepare another baked spinner then there's no point picking Finn, might as well let Bunny pound away on line and length - would be much more effective.

He says performance at that ground will be considered though...

Finn's is good iirc, dunno about bres and go?

Go's is good everywhere like ;-)

Mind I think Bunny has a good record there. For Durham atleast. I always feel too, that bowlers who have great accuracy will always get help from the Lords pitch. That is Onions.

We know that, twotfom knows that, everyone here knows that. The selectors dinnit

I reckon they'll stick with Finn.

Sounds like it to me

Batsmen often get no runs in a test and and stay in for the next.

How many Ashes did he win?

Rumours are another dry and slow one, although Im not convinced.

20 wickets at 33.5 in 6 tests this year, economy 3.74.
20 wickets at 31.5 in 5 tests last year, economy 3.16
1 5 wicket haul in those 11 tests.

He isn't a match winner in my eyes, I think Onions will be a better bet in English conditions. Just get the feeling that Finn needs to go away from England from a bit and come back when he's happy with his run up, is more confident and cuts out the number of 4 balls that he's bowling at the minute. You can't rely on him to keep the pressure up if he's not taking wickets and he's not having enough good spells at the minute to justify keeping him in in case he bowls one.

Add to that the fact that Cook bowled Bresnan and Onions more against Essex and only gave him 10 overs in the second innings at Trent Bridge (15 in the first when Broad couldn't bowl for most of it) and you've got a captain who isn't confident in his bowler, he should be dropped.
