A bowling attack of Swann, Bresnan, Broad and Jimmy will never maintain a world number one ranking as it simply isnt good enough as a collective unit. There are some very good bowlers in that mix but no genuine world class bowlers who have the X Factor and we need at least one if not two to dominate.

However, we will give any test nation a good game and are amongst the best nations in an era of poor quality in generalistation of test cricket as it stands

Anderson is like.

Finn needs a spell in county cricket for me, his mind seems muddled and he doesn't know what type of bowler he wants to be.

Steyn is the only world class bowler in test cricket. Anderson is the best of the rest along with a couple of the Asian spinners
 
Another one proving nowhere near good enough for the big stage.

That decision could have gone either way though.
