Second Test - England v NZ

Not like we're in danger of losing going for the win either tho. If be annoyed if I'd paid today I think

Oh aye, I agree. I was just playing devils advocate a bit. I still think we'll look to win it, but you've got to play the game not the conditions sometimes and for all I'd expect Tuesday to be a washout they've got to be careful not to give NZ a sniff - by taking time out of the game and keeping wickets in hand tonight, there's a platform to set a target tomorrow. I think we'll look to get up to about 450 lead in the afternoon and then declare an hour or so before Tea.

The missus is at work and I've got nowt on, so I think I'll get me feet up and watch the Test :-)

Think they'll want 400 by lunch, try and finish it tomorrow. No way will they score 400 no matter how long's left.

Canny day out, burnt to bits like

The idea to bat again was probably for batting practise and "bums on seats" tomorrow.

I thought we might have played aggressively after opting to bat again. Looks more like a commercial decision. Doubt it is though. I reckon thsy may have wanted Compton to bat again for some practice.

Id have made them follow on but we should still win the game.

Swann reckons they were always going to bat again as they want to let the pitch wear more.

Five away

Surely Trott would be an ideal 2 rather than 3. Builds innings, doesn't get out cheaply but doesn't score very fast either.

Could be, but i'm an advocate not changing something that is working. Trott averages 50 at 3 so keep him there in my book.

Come on now, just go for it, get to 400 either side of lunch, get it won. The best sides win when they dominate.

He definitely works at 3, don't get me wrong, I was just thinking in light of the absence of a no 2 at present it might make sense to shift him there with KP coming back rather than blood an untested or lesser batsman there for the Ashes

But then you need to find a 3 and move others around too. We've sorted the longer term partner to Cook at the top with Root. Now should be looking for someone who can be long term replacement at 3-4.

f***ing green light lads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does no on the England balcony shout this?

If it was our Sunday league game, someone would be shouting this after every dot ball.

Seriously though, why don't we ever crack on, when were supposed to. I don't see what were doing atm.

This is boring and pointless, get the ball in Jimmys hand and this could be over just after tea.

I reckon they're going to go to about 403 or so just for the psychological damage, over 400 seems much bigger then just shy of 400 for some reason. But there's absolutely no point in keeping to the crease after that.

I've got a 90 year old woman staying with us (no pics) and we've not got Sky Sports. Any chance of a decent link which won't have any pop-ups, porn or swearing, which will last for the entire afternoon without me having to sit next to her?
