I know this might seem a bit pointless but think I'll use this thread to keep my progress.

As of this morning, I weigh 14st 2, and have lost 7lbs this week which I'm chuffed about.

I'm on a strict protein diet - low carbs, low fat and only having two meals a day - whey protein shake for breakfast and one main meal around 4-5pm, along with the gym 5 times a week.

I followed the same plan last year and lost almost 3 stone from late feb-July.

My target weight is 12 and a half stone for July 17th.

How you all doing with your progress?

If you can go that long without eating, I'd advise looking into intermittent fasting, it will be a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

Must be a day for sevens ;)

The plan i am on i have 30% Fat 15% protein and 55% Carbs killed me at first to stick to

you reckon you're on under 1000 kcals a day? ouch

Probably. I enjoy it actually, and can go ages without eating, I forget to eat most days.

The shake I drink is mixed with semi skimmed milk so thats about 170 cals, water throughout the day then one meal which will be about 500 calories.

It's only difficult if you can't do it/arent used to it. I only eat once a day anyways just let myself down by snacking.

I'm doing a low carb diet, which some on here tried to warn me about (Even though it's not dangerous, i understand where they're coming from)

Haven't said my weight loss on here as of yet, but it's going good, finished 4 weeks tuesday gone, another 5/6 to go.

I get told not to do this, not to do that, etc etc and in the end found something that worked for me and I felt comfortable with.

Good for you mate. Just be aware that it's probably not healthy in the long term. You don't really need that much of a calorie deficiency everyday to lose weight.

Yeah same. I haven't felt hungry like people said i would, i haven't been in shit moods, i feel more energetic than i did before i done it.

Fitting into clothes i got too fat for after only 4 weeks, it's good. Lost 2 stone altogether so far.

This is also good advice, it's good for the short term for quick weight loss, once you're okay withyourself you can start a normal diet and go from there. The only way people baloon back up and add more weight than they begun with, is because they have no self control!

I didn't gain or lose anything in the past few year simply because i wasn'y eating that much and the things i was eating were't exactly the healthiest when you aren't doing anything most days.

I think what people need to understand is that, you can consume a lot of protein, but it isn't going to help you retain muscle if you're on a stupidly low calorie diet. Also, fat is an ESSENTIAL macronutrient along with protein, so why people go on stupidly low fat diets with the belief that less fat = less adipose tissue is beyond me.

I don't understand things like this, I mean, if it works for you then great, but from a personal point of view, it wouldnt be sustainable in the long term eating so little, and I'd just pile it all back on when I ate "normally" again. I mean, I have 5 eating periods a day, and I don't feel like I'm eating enough.

It's all about personal goals though, and if it's working for you then fantastic. I take it you're just aiming to shed a bit of weight rather than doing weights too?

Only if you're weak minded and go back to bad habits.

Worked for me mam, living proof of keeping everything she lost, off, for now, 4+ years. Come and say hi.

Right, when you go from an extreme, unhealthy low caloric intake, back to a 'normal' caloric intake, how do you propose maintaining the lost weight? What 'habits' do you recommend people avoid?

Like I said, my mam, and nana for that matter, are proof it's not as hard as people try and make out because they don't understand it and only think their way is the right way.

But you disregard them facts, and they are facts, as I see them every day.

I'm not saying 'my way is the right way', infact literally a matter of minutes ago I recommended intermittent fasting, which is something I don't follow and have never followed. Whereas just because some people you know haven't ended up in some sort of coma through a diet, you defend it's effect on health, disregard basic biophysics and are of the opinion that everybody who hasn't tried the diet as unaware.
