You would need to make a distinction between in the person's system and that person being under the influence but I agree.

Your argument doesn't exist at all because you're making a needless distinction.

Alcohol is a drug and it falls somewhere in the higher end of the 'danger' scale of drugs in terms of how addictive it is and the effective/lethal dose ratio.

I am? You are defending drug use BUT not certain drugs.
How about this then, in this country how many smackheads started with a mild drug? I have no figures for it but I could guess like

And again. You would seem to be happy with your wife/mother/kids getting on a bus with coke rolling around in the driver's system after the previous couple of days' festivities. I would not.

So are you. Alcohol is a drug and it is dangerous.

By the way, you do realise the 'gateway' argument (the one you're referring to) includes alcohol as a 'gateway' drug?

Arent most class A drugs addictive? How many hits would you need to be addicted? Ive had a drink since i was a teenager and i can take it or leave it. I find it hard to believe someone taking Heroin for a long peroid dosent become addicted!

No it isnt. In many ways its good for you.

I assume you advocate making tobacco illegal?

Of course they are. As is booze.

How long do you think you could go without a drink? Really. And would you be able to prove it to us?

No it isnt. In many ways its good for you.

Good grief.

Alcohol is viewed totally differently.
How many here take a drink with their kids in the house or room?
How many on here take drugs in the same scenario?
Many parents take their kids for a drink at a certain age how many introduce their kids to drugs?
I think that it speaks volumes myself.

Nor would I be if he'd been boozing.

Again I agree. There should be no alcohol in the system when you put the key in a bus. No alcohol, no weed, no cocaine, no E.

I bet you'd have something to say if the vehicle crashed injuring you or yours if there was.

Yes and I would think its on its way now 10/15 yrs it will be. And if theyd known how bad it was years ago im sure it would have been already.

I'd not be happy if anyone was injured because the bus driver had any kind of drugs in their system.

But you're happy that alcohol, a far more dangerous and destructive drug than tobacco, is legal?

I know Andrew Gibson and James Downs. Never though Gibson would be involved in summit like this but downs i can fully understand

Whats that meant to mean? Why do you think it is? That would mean most of the population would be addicted and they arent. How can you compare the like of coke and Heroin to alcohol?
