Whats that meant to mean? Why do you think it is? That would mean most of the population would be addicted and they arent. How can you compare the like of coke and Heroin to alcohol?
I think its your apparent complete inability to do this that leads to the seemingly lillogical stances that you hold.

I'd not be happy if anyone was injured because the bus driver had any kind of drugs in their system.

But you're happy that alcohol, a far more dangerous and destructive drug than tobacco, is legal?
Cant wait for the answer to this one...

Its Utter rubbish! I can see the comparison between drugs and fags but no way is Alcohol as bad or even close to being addictive as High Class drugs!

But you don't remain under the influence for that long. Why are you so keen to ignore that?

I'm not ignoring it. You seem to be saying that you'd be ok with a bus driver injuring your kids in a bus crash if he had traces in his system, influence or not. I would not. Yet a few posts ago you said you'd be unhappy about it. I widh you'd make your mind up.

If he had traces of it in his system and he wasn't under the influence (please, please, please start making this absolutely necessary distinction) then I'd be annoyed, but because my kids had been killed in a bus crash. If he was under the influence then it would add another level to my annoyance.

Please make the distinction between 'in his system' and 'under the influence' though.

Utter rubbish!

Hes right you know re tobacco and alcohol deaths (aside from violence).

Theres 100k die from tobacco each year and only 8,790 from alcohol in 2010.

Thats approxiamtely 8750 more than Ecstacy, 8400 more than cocaine and 8790 more than cannabis.....

Edit: and just to note the Ecstacy deaths are in the main due to drugs posing as Ecstacy rather than Ecstacy itself...

Are you gonna get tanked up on baccy and batter your missus tonight like? Is anyone around the country planning on doing this?

Are you going to crash your car after a few tabs?

If you want to do drugs thats fine by me, but IMO most druggies act like utter pricks and end up in right bad states. Yes alcohol does that to in excess but drug taking cant be done in moderation as drink can. So the argument doest wash for me.

Do you know if alcohol related liver cirrhosis/failure, cancer, heart disease etc' is included in that figure?

I don't.

It can. Have you much experience of drug taking to make that call? Out of interest, like.

I have. I never mentioned killed though. I don't want anyone with any alcohol, cannabis, E or any other party drug in their system at all while they are responsible for the safety of my family.

Is that distinctive enough for you?

Good question and yes, if the cause of death has been determined to be have been caused by alcohol abuse (hence the exact number) and we can all assume that, for the sake of the families etc , many other deaths go unrecorded as this....

Yep. It just doesn't really have anything to do with legalising drugs.

Snort away mate what do i care, as ive said IMO as its your opinion. Ive seen the damage drugs has done and IMO you have to be blind not to see it. If you want to do it just dont make excuses that its a good thing.

It does if they become legal and therefore legitimized. Of course it does.

It isn't a particularly strong argument against it. You'd expect people in all professions to avoid going to work under the influence of drugs (including alcohol). Here comes your problem... you were using cocaine and weed staying in your system for extended periods of time as an argument against those drugs whilst ignoring the fact that drugs staying in your system and having an influence on your are very much distinct.

Erm, I dont snort anything pal.

Apparently only the users of 'illegal' drugs are allowed to argue in favour of them.
