Steyn vs Clarke earlier on was a superb battle to watch. Clarke looked in all sorts of trouble but now has 51 from 58. Top batting.
On another note the best spinner in the world is making his debut today at the youthful age of 32, just ousting the world class performer that is Paul Harris.![]()

Now with their two best bowlers in prison they don't.I dont wish to pour scorn on England but I do genuinely believe the Saffers and Pakistan have better attacks

Agreed with South Africa though. No one comes close to a partnership of Steyn/Morkel in world cricket.
Its not just them, its having a leg spinner and a fifth bowler with over 250 test wickets up their sleeve. I just feel they are more suited to adapt to a variety of conditions better than we are. England are very good in certain conditions which is appluadable
Good argument - certainly a fair enough opinion to have. Steyn is undeniably ther best fast bowler in the world and Morkel is high class. I do think theres question marks over the rest of the attack though - at the moment they go into a test series with 2 completely unproven bowlers and in kallis one that is past his best.
Finn is unproven least we not forget.
To be honest I think Steyn and Morkel alone make that attack so much better than England's. Having Kallis is extremely handy but he's the wrong side of 35 and not looking the threat he has been over the last 15 years or so.Its not just them, its having a leg spinner and a fifth bowler with over 250 test wickets up their sleeve. They have a leg spinner, but only time will tell whether or not he's international class and they still don't have a permanent third seamer who is proven at this level. None of Tsotsobe, Parnell or Philander have nailed down a spot and this is where England have the advantage, in our strength in depth.

South Africa looked good today, despite helpful conditions, it will be interesting to see if they can dish out some of the drubbings England gave the Aussies, albeit in a 2 Test series, which is a bit shit.
