Imagine seeing two blokes high fiving at the match man.

Cringe.

Oh pleeze... would you rather have the incessant buzzing of vuvuzelas?

Don't forget that America gave the world the muppets as well...

Which are 100X more entertaining and 100X less creepy than Teletubbies...

 it's just a culture thing a suppose. The tanks on here probably don't really notice it and think I'm being daft, but after a couple of days, it was really noticeable like. We went to San Francisco and Vegas for our honeymoon and San Francisco I never noticed it, but Vegas when they were all excited, it was constant. We were there in 2010 and watched England vs USA in the world cup there. That was just surreal and an "experience". High fives and wooooo central.

You're right, for some here it's almost done without thinking. I think for adults, though, it's almost entirely for brief celebration - like a goal or, in that other sport, a touchdown.

Lots of tribal casinos around here, the bigger ones do some advertising on local television. EVERY gambling triumph in those ads is celebrated with a high five.

There are some great teachers on here, marra, that'll have you typing like a local in nee time... I've almost gotten rid of all my Americanisms, even when speaking to Americans! - alls yer hafta do is ask anarl...

I learned Mackem best reading @Teed on the old Boozer. Did my heed in.
