We've brought four in and there's over a month to go.

If come 1st September we've got no more, then I'll share you sentiments.

It doesn't take a specialist Director of Football to bring in the four we already have. No disrespect to the lads, i hope they're all successful, but they're hardly major signings.
You could fill the North Stand with those types of players if you could be arsed.

After 40 years of this shit, I'm just grateful to have what we have :D

Lack of ambition ? Nah..... Just realistic;)

Same here. Some of the situations we get ourselves in are avoidable though.
There are obvious ways to improve the structure of the club. There's hardly anything operating to it's optimum.

It looks that way from the outside but, you have to agree that the last 6/7/8 seasons have been decent?

Don't worry about other clubs ATM, we will be just fine by the end of August.

PISTON is always calm. We aren't close to being as strong as we were last season yet though, never mind improving. Plus many of those last year were already bedded in. Every day that goes by leaves less time to work with team mates. Just about every other club will have a headstart on all fronts.
...And we were piss weak last season.

Decent?

He didn't create the mess but either way, it's his job top get us out of it.
I started a thread a week or two ago questioning whether or not he had enough status in the game to be able to get things done and call in the odd favour.
Whether you like it or not, or even think it's unfair, having a background on the pitch makes a difference to edge open doors. I would take phone calls from any old team mates and even opposition. I'd readily take calls from ex-managers and coaches.
Would i take calls from randoms i don't even know? Possibly, but there'd be no bond and no personal connection. Sorry, that isn't being aloof, it's just how it is.
yes when Quinn was here he opened all the right doors.
he presided over rk's riminal waste. He stood by and let bent walk and we paid 8m on Wickham, who hasn't delivered a thing until the last 5 games of the season.
yet again pithy comments and swipes at the current hierarchy and congerton because you want to blame someone for letting your ginger rent boy walk away.
you really believe a real football man would have kept colback at safc?
you must drink gallons of gaviscon to keep the bile from overwhelming you.

Descent more like imo
kassiano in pessimistic pisstake shocker

Nobody has a clue why we aren't making deals, how could they possibly know? It could be a number of factors.

I reckon we must of thought Borini would not turn us down though
