But doesn't weed stay in your system for months? How long do the effects from smoking weed last?

As for prescription drugs, as long as the ability to do your job isn't affected in any way, I don't see why you should be forced to tell your employers your personal circumstances.
In the blood for at least a month I believe.

To be fair though Mat a lot over there also get it privately. I know a few kids who only use cafes when their marras don't have any. I'd use coffee shops here for convenience but I reckon I'd still see 1-2 pals for it.

In damn you've got the tourist bits where they'll sell any old shit and the parts real smokers venture to for the really good shit.

When I go there it's to Haarlem most of the time or Rotterdamn.
Yes, it does happen away from coffeeshops, usually among younger people with less money and among mates. It doesn't happen on a big or street level. The tourist bit is what it is, it gives a fantastic income to the city but away from that there are the local coffeeshops where the Dutch who smoke buy their weed. A lot more dutch people don't smoke weed than do but it isn't a problem in the neighbourhoods.
Haarlem is a top choice. I lived there for a few years and love the city.

Unreal how many normal people now can't go for a night out/few drinks without the assistance of cheap low quality coke. Talking about decent regular folk too, with canny jobs, families etc not just talking daft lads and scratters and charvas.

Absolutely tragic.
if your paying 40 quid for a gram of sniff you need your head looking at really, coke is a thing you need to be in the know for to get decent tackle, wouldent bother with it myself 90 a gram for half decent stuff for 20 minutes buzz

My family have been devastated by the misuse of alcohol.

My friend lost her son to ecstasy.

Pretty much hate the misuse of chemical substances.

I'm sorry to hear that, but if you'll permit me to continue, you said the magic word there, "misuse".

There's a difference between use and misuse. If you misuse a car in the wrong way you'll kill people, including yourself. That doesn't mean we should ban everyone from driving just because some people choose to drive like lunatics.

When people die while on ecstasy, it's not generally the ecstasy itself that kills them, it's either dehydration or overhydration, both of which can be avoided if the user has been properly educated about the effects of ecstasy and the ways that it alters your thought processes. Proper education in the effects of drugs can be difficult for someone to get when the drug is illegal. Not so much when your country takes the Portugal approach.

Another "killer" in the illegal drug world is impure product. When you buy a pill or a wrap, you haven't got a clue what's in it. Decriminalise it and you get health instructions leaflets in the packs, strength ratings on the box, and you can guarantee that the thing you're taking is exactly what you think it is. This would save lives.

Very sadly this is what I recently witnessed in County Durham.

I agree about the tourist bit, it's needed and of course I also visit those parts. I don't tend to buy from those though, I used to years ago but you eventually suss out the best places. I'm not sure of numbers but I reckon 60% of the Dutch I know don't smoke it.

I love Holland and really like the Dutch, they can be cocky but alright with it ya know. I've stayed in Haarlem a lot, just like the vibe/quietness.

How long you been out there? I've been going on/off since the 80's as a couple of uncles lived there for years.

You ever heard of the Popeye? That was his bar/cafe. Been gone a while now like, touring Portugal with his blues band still high as fuck

I often wonder how people justify the expense to partners unless them are on it also:lol:

Talking 40-50 notes turning our round the doors before you even start on the drink. Like you say unbelievable the amount of people having a toot nowadays

To many taking it to look cool. If you want a bit then take it, you don't need to let every fucker know..

Sitting there sniffing like fuck with half of it still on their nose. Wankers.

The other assumption of the anti drugs being legalised seems to be its because we all wish to take it. I have no intention of taking drugs if they become legal. I've been in lock ins when people were snorting it off the bar and if I'd wished to partake it would have been free. I did not but I still support its legislation.

Where abouts was this mate?

I first came to holland for a couple of years in 1980 as a youth, this time I've been here off and on since 2011. It is a lovely place and the people are decent. I've never quite sussed out this trader nation.
Haarlems tranquility and vibe was a big part of what I loved about it. It has everything amsterdam has (and more) without the craziness or hassle. It also has head for head the most beautiful women in Holland. Pavement cafes are wonderful. ;)

worked in the dam for nearly a year in 2005. well lived in zaandam and the coffee shops in zan blew away anything in the town 1/3 cheaper as well with just locals coming in it was bliss

I see, I thought you'd lived there years. I thought about it but chose Germany instead, looking back it was the right choice as I was to young for a place like that full time.

I reckon I could happily live there now but kids etc have put the block on that. Maybe later in life I'll get a place out there as I feel real comfortable when I'm there.

I'm back over soon but looking at Alkmaar or Heerenveen as I wanna watch their football teams and I've never been to either.

The cost was unbelievable for what people were getting in terms of quality.
Shocking in fact. I suspect a lot of people will not be able to maintain those costs. It was when I saw a young'un in a wetherspoons on a Thursday afternoon chewing their jaw off that I started to fully comprehend what I'd being seeing previously. Even in my village, the barmaid was skipping along behind the bar.

Same down here when I visit East London, I'm sure in some of the pubs I'm the only one not on it. Most of the shit they buy is about as much use as hoying half a bag of flour up your nose.

You get the "it's really good gear mate, £40 quid a gram" like you'd sell really good gear for that. f***ing simpletons.

No interest for me, maybe when I was early 20's but not now.
