Despies is already more than 50p per unit. I'm okay.
Mind you I got quite drunk off four pints of a 6.5% £1.59 IPA in Wetherspoons the other night
The majority of ales on in Whetherspoons aren't very good like.

Aye I have Completely underestimated how much it will increase prices on shite like that.
It was actually really enjoyable. Shipwreck IPA if you see it.
I managed to get four pints and something to eat and change from £10. Mint.
It might act as a deterrent. The Tories wanted to bring it in, and the SNP can't bring it in despise passing an act of the Scottish Parliament due to a pending legal challenge from the Scotch Whisky Association.
the only people it will deter will be the likes of pensioners who have an occasional tipple. They will cut back those with a drink problem won't. The problem drinker will just cut back elsewhere to feed their habit. It was actually really enjoyable. Shipwreck IPA if you see it.

Who is being taxed for drinking here? Is it the GPs with their hundred grand salaries who advocate minimum pricing, or is it the poor? I think we know the answer don't we?
On the one hand I don't see why the majority should be penalised for the minority being dicks. On the other hand, everything I buy is over the minimum pence per unit anyway so fuck em.
I don't have a sophisticated enough taste to tell.
I don't know what pensioners drink, but pretty much everything in the pub is already over 50p per unit anyways.
What do pensioners drink and I'll tell you if it is already over 50p per unit.
If people are that poor maybe they shouldn't be drinking in the first place? Alcohol is quite expensive given that you don't need it. If I have £30 to get me through the week, do I spend it on food or do I go out and spend two-thirds of it on drink?
Am against any thing that affects the price of Frosty Jacks. Lush drink. Had a 2 litre bottle in the bus stop yesterday lunch time. However it would increase the price of Frosty Jacks from £4.50 (£3.50 on 2 for £7).
Patronising knacker. Who the fuck are you to say that alcohol should be the preserve of the affluent?

Should be £2 a unit, disgusting habit.
Alcohol doesn't have to be expensive, who are you or anyone else to tell people what they spend their wages on?
I didn't say it should be the preserve of the affluent. Like everything else that isn't at all necessary, you consume accordingly. It's not as if alcohol is something you need to exist or to even have a good quality of life.
If you can't afford it and don't need it, don't buy it.
Why ?While we're on, I'd like to see on the spot fines for public nose picking.
