Need proper sentences for the original awful crimes in my humbleNine days after being released from prison, Jordan McSweeney went out for drinks. He was thrown out of pub for bothering barmaids.
After being thrown out of the pub, he tried and failed to attack two other women, before spotting and chasing Zarah Aleena, then beating her to death in the street.
Another case where I find myself torn between opposing the death penalty, but seeing absolutely no reason why this worthless scumbag should be allowed to live.
28 prior convictions - burglary, racially motived violence, previous violent assaults on women.
He should never have been released from prison in the first place, but let’s be honest, the world would be a better place if he was just taken straight from the courtroom and hanged in the street.
How on earth was a racist, woman beating burglar, with nearly 30 prior convictions allowed to walk the streets?

True. I think I may have missed the word minority from my post (along with substituting e with ial). I've still no idea why he's made race an issue here (well, I have but it's not a racially motivated killing, it's a psychopathical, misogynistic murder.

The big problem is if you introduce the death penalty nee fucker is going to plead guilty to crimes such as this in fear of being executed. However if the death penalty was introduced and someone did decide to plead guilty then its a win win yes ?

The thing that frustrates me is the 'we' you are referring to are most likely a progressive, civilised liberal society, where nobody commits a crime to warrant this punishment. However, the world around 'us' is getting worse - hand in hand with a reduction in deterrents!! The scumbags know they will get away with more and more and liberal society gets softer and softer.

The death penalty isn’t a deterrent - look at the US who have the death penalty but absolutely loads of violent crimes going on every day. The death penalty wouldn’t have stopped this lad from killing this lassy cos he’s a nut job
For crimes like this there should be another level of incarceration/punishment. The is no redeeming or rehabilitating people like this.
He should be made to serve the whole sentence in solitary confinement - no human contact other than the guards who bring and take way his food. No access to television or any form of electronic media - no games consoles etc. Only basic medical care should be provided.
If he stops eating all of his food or goes on hunger strike, let him starve. He forfeited all of his 'human' rights when he committed the level of crime that got him there in the first place.
Once the food has been untouched for a month or so, send in some 'clean-up' specialists to shovel him into a body-bag and dump him in a landfill site somewhere.
Of course, none of this would be necessary if he was sentenced properly in the first place and not let out to escalate his criminal urges. Some people are just bad and cannot be saved.

Sickening offence like, I watched the judge handing down the sentence yesterday (he was too cowardly to go up to court for it), then I saw the CCTV footage of him stalking different women on the news report. My lass has been stalked previously off a f***ing nutter like, it started similarly to this case as well and we still don’t know if it’s over with, she leaves the house early to get the bus to work so this sort of story hits home

Ignoring the death penalty issue, why doesn’t this meet the “life means life” threshold? He could still end up with 30 years of freedom on a state pension with loads of protection.
Rehabilitation is a fools endeavour on people like this and even if they could be rehabilitated, they don’t deserve that chance
