Think we need massive reinforcements up front to be able to compete. A lot of the start was adrenaline and the boost from last season. Teams will know what to expect now. We are hopeless when we control games. Pure counter attacking team. Think teams will let us have the ball next seasonDisagree. We have a very strong base to go again with a few quality additions.
Do not think we get another point now, still been good seasonI called 16th on 46 points.
I better be wrong.
Out of interest, why do you reckon it’ll be harder?I think next season will be harder than this, by some margin. I think at least two of the promoted teams will be straight back down, so we just need to make sure we aren't the ones finishing 18th.
True, but Sadiki and Roefs have been two gems for the money we paid. Arguably we ended up with Roefs because we missed out on other targets as well.
And that’s the big difference between us and the mags. When we go for alternative targets we end up with just as good.
Fulham? When Tommy Watson scored the winner in the final and it sunk in that we were going to be in the Premier League next season and going to be playing teams like Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton I was naturally in a living dream. Eight long years of pain was over. We’d clawed our way back up to the Premier League. It especially sunk in on the way back home.
But I think I was so caught up in the winning of the money I forgot to think about what to spend it on! Lol
Aspirations were far from considered. I guess I just wanted us to win some games and perform well.
Not really but we have gone a bit more defensive if anything. Yes, we were very defensive for the play offs but we weren't like that earlier in the season.Yeah. Do you think le bris has changed how we set up?
I Hoped we would stay up and not get too many hammerings. I used to live in Ipswich in the 80s and enjoyed going to the matches. Hope you go up automaticallyI think you guys have had a great season. Avoided the first season relegation comfortably.
I think you will finish 11th 12th which is fantastic for your first season.
What were you hoping for at the start of the season?
We're not mathematically safe yetI'm not being funny but I said to my mates we'd be safe by March and they laughed at me. I remind them of this regularly by sending them a copy of my original WhatsApp post.
If two of the promoted teams at least are guaranteed to go down, why would it be harder than this season where we're looking at probably 40+ points going down?I think next season will be harder than this, by some margin. I think at least two of the promoted teams will be straight back down, so we just need to make sure we aren't the ones finishing 18th.
Absolutely no chance we're going down. We're not mathematically safe yet
Whoever comes up will have to spend a lot of money just to give themselves a chanceAgree to a point - depends how our recruitment goes and who comes up I suppose.
Who do we think are most likely to stay up when promoted. Coventry Ipswich boro Millwall saints Wrexham hull?
Palace, Bournemouth and possibly Fulham will have new Head Coaches, who may or may not work outOut of interest, why do you reckon it’ll be harder?
I think the three promoted teams (I’ll wait to see who they are obviously) will struggle to match Leeds and us. If it’s Millwall or Boro they might even struggle to match Burnley.
West Ham will be a mess again if they stay up. The mags look in turmoil right now. Then you potentially have several of Palace, Forest (with that owner), Leeds, Everton, Brighton, Fulham, Bournemouth and Brentford in European football.
Not saying we won’t be down there of course, but I’m not sure that the league looks that much stronger like?
Irs a very small chance admittedlyAbsolutely no chance we're going down.
As soon as we hit 40 points after Leeds I was confident my prediction was correct.Irs a very small chance admittedly
Before our influx of signings at best not achieving the lowest points tally for a relegated club. After influx of signings maybe just maybe we could stay up but it would be tight. After the first few games we looked a genuine top 6 team. Afcon we solidified that. After Christmas hit and miss, but still with a chance of Europe or top 10, which once the season is over we can’t complain one bit.I think you guys have had a great season. Avoided the first season relegation comfortably.

Did you state which year?I'm not being funny but I said to my mates we'd be safe by March and they laughed at me. I remind them of this regularly by sending them a copy of my original WhatsApp post.
