Your season

Disagree. We have a very strong base to go again with a few quality additions.
Think we need massive reinforcements up front to be able to compete. A lot of the start was adrenaline and the boost from last season. Teams will know what to expect now. We are hopeless when we control games. Pure counter attacking team. Think teams will let us have the ball next season
I called 16th on 46 points.
I better be wrong.
Do not think we get another point now, still been good season

I think next season will be harder than this, by some margin. I think at least two of the promoted teams will be straight back down, so we just need to make sure we aren't the ones finishing 18th.
Out of interest, why do you reckon it’ll be harder?

I think the three promoted teams (I’ll wait to see who they are obviously) will struggle to match Leeds and us. If it’s Millwall or Boro they might even struggle to match Burnley.

West Ham will be a mess again if they stay up. The mags look in turmoil right now. Then you potentially have several of Palace, Forest (with that owner), Leeds, Everton, Brighton, Fulham, Bournemouth and Brentford in European football.

Not saying we won’t be down there of course, but I’m not sure that the league looks that much stronger like?

Honestly after the play off final I expected (and had already accepted) that we’d be relegated but that in the long run it would do the club good to bag the tv money and we could come back stronger.

With all that being considered it’s been an unbelievable season.

When Tommy Watson scored the winner in the final and it sunk in that we were going to be in the Premier League next season and going to be playing teams like Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton I was naturally in a living dream. Eight long years of pain was over. We’d clawed our way back up to the Premier League. It especially sunk in on the way back home.

But I think I was so caught up in the winning of the money I forgot to think about what to spend it on! Lol

Aspirations were far from considered. I guess I just wanted us to win some games and perform well.
Fulham?🤣

I was hopeful that we were going to have a good season. All of the so called experts predicted us to get relegated, I didn't mind those predictions as it took the pressure off us a bit. I knew it was going to be tough but just wanted to watch the season unfold and enjoy the drama. I think we have got to be pleased, the owners have really given it a go, so even if we got relegated, no one could complain about the ambition we have shown. I was more confident with our dealings in the transfer window than our two promoted rivals, especially given the fact that we had less time to prepare. I'd like to think that our ambition will be rewarded but we'll have to wait and see🤞

I still think Ipswich will finish second and Southampton will win the play-offs, we could well see Ross Stewart and Jack Clarke in the Premier League next season. Boro can still beat anyone on their day to be fair, it would be quite good to have all three North East clubs back in the premier league.

I was hoping for survival.

I would have kind of accepted relegation if we'd gone down fighting.

I'd never heard of any of the signings apart from Xhaka and Traore. Even though Reinildo had made plenty appearances for AM, Diarra had scored against England,.others had played champions league etc

I think you guys have had a great season. Avoided the first season relegation comfortably.

I think you will finish 11th 12th which is fantastic for your first season.

What were you hoping for at the start of the season?
I Hoped we would stay up and not get too many hammerings. I used to live in Ipswich in the 80s and enjoyed going to the matches. Hope you go up automatically 🤞

If two of the promoted teams at least are guaranteed to go down, why would it be harder than this season where we're looking at probably 40+ points going down?

Agree to a point - depends how our recruitment goes and who comes up I suppose.
Who do we think are most likely to stay up when promoted. Coventry Ipswich boro Millwall saints Wrexham hull?
Whoever comes up will have to spend a lot of money just to give themselves a chance

Palace, Bournemouth and possibly Fulham will have new Head Coaches, who may or may not work out

Before our influx of signings at best not achieving the lowest points tally for a relegated club. After influx of signings maybe just maybe we could stay up but it would be tight. After the first few games we looked a genuine top 6 team. Afcon we solidified that. After Christmas hit and miss, but still with a chance of Europe or top 10, which once the season is over we can’t complain one bit.
