Just being honest, you used to be alrite, but noticed recently you’ve became a total elevenereef.

Everton can do no wrong, and you’re so much bigger and better than everyone else, especially where players are concerned. You’d think your mob win the league every season given the way you go on.
 
Still baffling we didn't sign him. Free transfer, experienced defensive midfielder (a position we are lacking), still quality for championship level.
I would have given him 1 and a half year deal.
Only reason i could see not signing him is if he demanded huge wages but i don't think he would have being unemployed.

A 1 and a half year deal for a free agent is a bit silly and makes no sense like. Short term deal to the end of the season and see where he's at. If he does the business give him another year.

It’s proof the model’s immediate aim isn’t to get promoted yet

We are developing the young players above all else right now - we will probably continue to do so until we’ve sold a few of them, and we have made enough money to then go out and “go for it” (I hope this is the long term plan)

Having Mvila now wouldn’t be in line with this. It would slow down the progression of our young players and thus slow down the progression of our club.

If we’d been genuinely interested he’d have been here early in January.

I agree the intention here is to identify young players with the potential to develop and add value.

Selling Gooch, Batth, and telling Pritchard last summer he was free to find another club. The failure (or maybe intentional refusal) to replace Evans and also bring in a more experienced forward against the wishes of the head coach indicates to me there are determined to stick with the process.

This is despite every ex manager, player, pundit you hear comment on it say to deny a coach those assets is seriously hampering the teams progress.

I’ve heard a few say that the real test of the model is when we sell Clarke for example for £20m+ and see how they reinvest the money.

I think the fee they received for Stewart is a warning that they might double down on this process and spend only a percentage of the fee on the next group of youngsters with potential.

If that is the case I think the club will stay in the championship for a long time.

Developing the young players would be easier, from my perspective, if there was more experience in the dressing room rather than playing them constantly when they’re out of form or fitness and destroying their confidence.

Look at Brighton with lallana, welbeck, Milner etc.
