Jermain Defoe (no longer a rumour)

Broadhead was surprisingly physical when he played up too on his own tbf. Perfectly capable of holding the ball up and with the energy to press from the front. He’s fine for a game or two as a Stewart replacement imo. To be fair, if broadhead is ahead of schedule in his recovery we could perhaps better take a chance on Defoe being the only striker we bring in. Definitely a concern though - and you could see how the club could have reservations about how the deal fits into the overall picture.

He might not be as fit but he’ll still have that one touch and finish trait about him still, that touch and finish against Chelsea at home was ridiculous. If one of our players could of took a decent touch when in on goal we’d of comfortably beat Wycombe away

There’s a difference tween being fit & match fit

but how’d you get match fit if you don’t play games

It's not about the article, the fact is he wrote a article with no quotes or anything, then put a headline which he knew would create a fuss and it was made up
 
It would be great if we can pull it off.
It’s as Simple as him or O’brien coming in as sub.
JDs impact on Maja‘s finishing was apparently significant. Can he help Stewart’s finishing Be even better?
JD and McGeady as a double sub on 70 minutes Is a game changer.
His efforts in training should also be a model for other younger players to see what it takes.

Still trying to find a stick to beat LJ with?
I’d hate to see LJ sign Defoe then break his kneecap with a crow bar because he’s jealous of what he’s achieved in the game. But I’m largely going to be concentrating on the positives rather than fretting about hypothetical scenarios which would give me an excuse to slag the manager off. If he signs at all of course

I hope that the article was bollocks as i like the manager, or more the football he has us playing. And i hope he isnt so blond as to see its a crqcking move for the short term

Can't imagine Defoe having much interest in signing for a club where he only gets half an hour a week. He'll want to be starting games and realistically we probably can't offer him that.

Interesting to see how this pans out. Based on nothing, I reckon Defoe would like to come back, we're keen on it too but can't offer him regular starts.

Ya need a goal 20 minutes to go opposition defence is fucked because Stewart has ran them ragged all day then you see Defoe coming on last thing the opposition wants to see

He would be a great signing providing we don't have to wait a while to get him match fit, and his wages aren't too high so it affects any other players coming in, as still think we could do with another striker even with defoe
