Xmas eve night

I remember as a kid in the 1980s when we travelled to the NE on a Christmas Eve and we drove through houghton.

It was only about 8pm I reckon but it was bedlam with people on the road and I distinctly remembered a gaggle of drunken women staggering across the road. It was quite exciting as a 10 year old in the back seats but I’m sure that my dad called them ‘silly buggers’.

Had a few years from about 14 when I loved going out on Christmas Eve, walking a few pubs and then a few hours back at someone's house, but then I started to hate feeling rough on the actual day so toned it down and then jacked it in completely once kids came along.

I've never really fancied going out on Xmas Eve, like. Couldn't face feeling like shit on Christmas morning, hew.
One morning i woke up xmas day alone because the missus had fucked off up to her parents, absolutely incensed because I'd chundered all over the inside of her car halfway up hylton road at fuck o clock on xmas eve. Happy days.
Lad. 👍
