Bash at the Beach 96, What is Tony Khan doing right now putting on his biggest show ever? laying the foundation, will it work? i don't really care as i've said before, fact is people can't be happy because its AEW doing a show at Wembley instead of WWE, if anything you should all look at it as a positive because the likelihood of Summerslam being held at Wembley someday is now high, BuT WHat aBoUT The DividEnds? Can't even take you seriously because of your first sentence. Jesus Christ, mate. Comparing an AEW event financed by TK in 2023 to Vince McMahon in 1987. Vince who took over all the territories and made wrestling a national phenomenon and TK who is financing a company because he can. Fuck sake. Bit of a stupid comment.

What made WCW big in 1996 bash at the beach was two big names diverting from WWF to WCW and the biggest name ever being in their books turning heel! No foundation there, that was just big names doing big stuff! TK has done fuck all of that other than bringing Punk in

I said in my above post. If the AEW Wembley stadium show sells out. Good. TK should be doing more to sort out other things than worry about plan that. I want wrestling to be good. It's not. If you like where it is, cool.

It’s hardly a stupid comment, it’s a comparison but obviously not on the same scale, WWE needed Mania 3 to set them off massively and that’s what it did, what’s to say All In couldn’t do the same for AEW but on a smaller scale?

AEW is niche you’re right but yet it still gets more views in the UK than WWE (free view help’s obviously), the only person who could say it’s unwarranted is Tony Khan, you know the businessman who is running it all, not you or me, if you think it’s unwarranted that’s fine I still don’t see why you’d care as it doesn’t effect you but hey whatever floats your boat.

AEW makes profit so Tony Khan doesn’t finance it, he did at the start.

And aye I think more wrestlings good not because I get to watch more but because the people who work in that business now have more opportunities than the past 20 years and the reason I threw the Bubba tweet in was simply to show you the comparison and how someone who has actually worked in that business see’s it unlike yourself.

I’m honestly gutted, all I’m going to be able to think about is how unwarranted the show is and that it’s a PR stunt, fuck sake absolutely ruined me that has 😂

Nicely timed enough WWE did their Q1 call today. Expenditures totalled over $150 million, they don't pay for flights or hotels or anything like that unless it's Saudi, AEW do however. and I believe it's only Lesnar on a big money contract.

Is AEW growing as a business? Obviously, but it only means the deficit is getting smaller overtime, but at the moment they're making as much profit as Chelsea FC - A heavy negative. If you genuinely believe they were making profit, a psychiatrist is genuinely needed for the amount of delusion.
It's standard practice for any business to run into their first 10 years in a negative, the UFC were 1 event away from going bankrupt for god sake, and to think they're making profit after 3 years?

As I've said, I hope it does well and people go and enjoy it. I'd prefer TK/AEW to actually sort the shows out, make it less messy and sort out the talent rather than be jumping straight to Wembley.

I'm okay with the Wembley thing tbh. But someone who knows business understands it's a PR exercise more than anything.

Their US TV deal, is actually really good, $45 million which accounts for exactly 45% of your revenue. But it's all problem from then on. The rest of their revenue comes from gates and merch which asks you the question. Where the fuck is the UK and EU TV deals? Right at the bottom. It's so inaccessible that people are having to use VPN's and make a FiteTV account.

And even then the FiteTV deal it totally unreliable. What if WarnerMedia ask for exclusivity? They're accounting for 45% of all your revenue so they're literally pulling all the strings when it comes to making a new deal. If they say bend over, you better damn right bend over.
FiteTV as a streaming service won't be allowed to be a thing so they'll be forced to look elsewhere so there's alternatives such as DAZN, Amazon Video, EuroSport, Sky etc. And if they can get a package deal out of it making the companies as their main broadcaster when the ITV deal out of it then Wembley is going to be almost x10 worth it, and x10 worth more than the gate they're gonna get.

And there's the sponsorships which both WWE and AEW are both flirting with the idea of - Having a centre ring sponsorship and another 4 smaller ones for each turnbuckle.
Another good PR move they did is when they announced the AEW game is made by the developers who made the original WWE Smackdown Games, WWF Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy for the Nintendo 64.

As a gaming nerd myself Ii's such a nostalgic and genius move I instantly thought I'm actually gonna look at that game but I don't know many of the roster. But it got my attention.
