Sami Zayn is so hot right now he made the entire bloodline break character in 1 sentence. He might actually be the next CM Punk. No matter what gimmick he's given he gets heat.


Been a canny while since I've posted but Wyatt's return is the hottest thing since CM Punk's AEW Debut. The Wrestling community is toxic as fuck as you do just comparing the 2, just enjoy the f***ing moment, they were both super epic. If you compare both products to what they were like at the start of 2022 it's night and day, Wrestling has come very far in this calendar year and it only benefits the fans.

Watching AEW I think the improvisation to Page's injury was world class.

The Wyatt6 faction has stirred up some interest and some obvious members - Liv Morgan's going to be there by the clues, possibly Rowan, possibly The Fiend in another Firefly Funhouse Jackyl/Hyde gimmick, the other 3, no clues given whatsoever.

It’s great that they’ve made the characters into actual members of a faction. It means Wyatt will be used as I find him best, the leader who doesn’t wrestle all too often (as I find he blows out his arse and isn’t main event level) but can be used to his strengths and still dominate. If that makes any sort of sense?! I know what I’m trying to say just not very well :lol:

WWE Collab'ing with Japanese promotion company NOAH for a Muta v Nakamura match.

Extremely genius move from HHH. It's traditional in Japan to start New Years with a mega-superstar attraction - Floyd Mayweather fought that Japanese Boxer which he knocked out for example.

He's got a WWE Superstar as the main attraction on Japan's biggest stage and opened the door with working with other promotions.

The man just keep picking up those W's.

Pro Wrestling Noah wanted to make sure everything was copacetic with AEW before they officially booked WWE's Shinsuke Nakamura to face The Great Muta, and a well-known wrestling manager helped make it happen. Dominic DeAngelo of Wrestling Inc. has learned that it was Paul "Triple H" Levesque who contacted Noah to make sure the opportunity with Muta was still available, and it was Sonny Oono whom Noah reached out to regarding any issues.

"Noah wanted to protect the newly developing relationship with AEW," Oono stated, playing the role of facilitator. "I made sure they were no objections from various promotions."

After it was confirmed both parties had no qualms, the match was on for Noah's New Year 2023 event on January 1 at Budokan Hall, part of Muta's retirement tour. Nakamura has stated that there was some pushback within WWE after he requested the match, but he was eventually given the thumbs up by the new regime. The agreement became official on October 26.

Muta has had an extremely memorable farewell tour so far, as he was a surprise appearance during AEW's "Grand Slam" week, saving Sting from being attacked by The House of Black during a tag match on "AEW Rampage." Following Muta's fight with Nakamura, Muta and Sting are set to team up on January 22, 2023, for Noah's Great Muta Final Bye-Bye, another partnership Oono helped bring together.

"Sting joining together on Muta's last event was a wish of Muta," Oono said, who thinks it's great for wrestling when you break down barriers. "I'm glad I could help make it possible!"

Completely forgot about Crown Jewel being on this weekend, looked at the card and its a big pass from me.

I had a quick glance at the quarterly earnings from WWE;

Clash at the Castle generated $8 million from just ticket sales and about $940,000 from the stalls in and outside the arena that weekend, it's safe to say it's going to be annual thing now.
Biggest merchandise seller currently is.. Bray Wyatt and he only came back 3(?) weeks ago.

NXT Europe is basically somewhere for when they recruit someone from Asia who will struggle to get a Visa/Green card for America. Makes sense but I can't imagine it's going to be a good product.
 
I did not have Mike Tyson being a Shibata mark on my bingo card 😂 class, really good seeing him mix it up in the ring again.
 
Logan Paul was fantastic, I mean he is a college level Wrestler so he was always going to take WWE like a surfboarder on water.

His moveset is outrageous but then he has the worst finisher of all time.
 
Survivor Series format completely changed. No longer brand v brand. The 2 main events are now doing the WarGames format.

Bloodline v Brawling Brutes + Drew.

There's so much British and Irish representation it's actually weird to see in WWE. Wade Barrett on commentary too + Nikki Cross in the women's WarGames match.

Full Gear looks great, only match I have no interest in is Darby/Sting v Lethal/Jarrett, it’ll be a fun match just not arsed about it, everything else looks quality.

800k/0.28 in the 19-49 demographic for an AEW Wednesday night show is extremely poor. Plenty of photos of the arena sectioned off due to lack of ticket sales.
Moxley looked really disinterested. Not enjoying the feud with MJF on a personal level.

I don't even watch the highlights of RAW nowadays, it had 1 good week then it's become a 3 hour montage of random made matchups.

Smackdown is shit hot still atleast.

I’ve said it before I hate rating talk but AEW always has one bad week every couple month (this looks to be it) I’ll wait and see what it’s like the next month same as I did for Raw which is back down to 1.5 again and Smackdown which is holding around the 2 mil mark.

On the crowd , yeah this will happen when they burn the market out, they need to go west which thankfully they are starting to do as well as the Uk and Canada.

They ran CT about an hour north from Bridgeport for Rampage less than 3 weeks ago and also had a Boston show recently. Weird city selection for the last month or so, I guess this is why Jeff Jarrett is in so He can book more arenas in different states.

On Moxley, I imagine he just wants his holiday that he was meant to get 3 month ago until Punk went on like a gonk and ruined the entire story between him and MJF which then made this story between him and Mox so convoluted 😂

Still Full Gear looks like a great show so I’m excited for that, I’ll probably watch Survivor Series for the War Games matches too

Away from Ratings I see Sasha Banks has been expected to return for months but still hasn’t and has started to trademark a new name and move list, not saying she isn’t going back to the E just interesting is all, I’d love for to have some matches in Stardom personally.
 
A somewhat underwhelming build to Full Gear, but there's some cracking matches set up.

Feel like ROH really needs a TV/streaming deal because quite frankly it's diluting the main AEW product as every other match is for a title.

Yep, I get why it’s on tv ( so they get potential parties interested in ROH) but the sooner it’s off the better, mind I have enjoyed the Jericho title run so far.

I’m hopeful that after Full Gear they press the reset button, show looks great though.

I noticed a sign in the crowd a week or so ago “Less ROH More AEW”. On AEW, absolutely agree. I don’t mind a bit, the main title for sure but it’s almost swaying on the side of the future ROH roster for appearances on the weekly AEW programme. Quicker a TV contract is sealed and they can split is the better for me. Matches are just all over the place trying to squeeze in as much of the roster as possible.

Looking forward to Full Gear though (I know I don’t sound like it :lol:)
 
The biggest complaint on Social media and Reddit was the ROH stuff. It's boring the crowd away. Needs it's own show like NXT.

The people have spoken they don't want ROH forced down their throats and poorly integrated within a AEW Dynamte show.
