Wrestling - Part 3

Cody isn't the face of WWE material. I don't know why anyone thinks he should be tbh.

It might be Gunther who takes it off him. They do regard him as a future top-person of the company. He's the 2nd longest IC title holder and the longest ever Royal Rumble entrant, they're throwing the kitchen sink at him but not shoving him into main event territory right away.
It’s really quite simple. He’s returned and all of the focus has been on the family never winning the big one. He got injured and has comeback and got catapulted into the main event picture. I think people expecting him to win last night was the logical approach. They’ve done a swerve, I’d be surprised if he isn’t the main belt holder on one of the brands within the next 12 months.

Won’t the time difference make it very difficult to work? It certainly put off the nfl ever considering hosting the superbowl at Wembley
Depends on how much there actually make now on ppv, with it been just on the network.

I guess additional buys are very small that time zones are not as important.

Ticket sales at Wembley will be 90k and Cardiff was a massive seller

But Clash at the Castle wasn’t just well-liked by the fans; it also drew a lot of money. According to Brandon Thurston on Twitter, the show drew an impressive $8 million live gate.

According to WWE’s corporate website, CATC was “the most viewed international event in company history.” The same could be said of WWE’s three domestic events during the same quarter, Money In The Bank, SummerSlam, and Extreme Rules.

The report further noted that Clash at the Castle’s live gate represented a third of all of WWE’s ticket sale revenue for the entire quarter. It’s also almost four times the revenue the company generated during the same quarter in 2021.

He wasn't even first choice to win the Rumble so how the hell was he first choice was he to win at Mania. That one all depended on The Rock's schedule.

HHH just doesn't think he's a top wrestler, as he once told Bryan during his feud, just a B+ player.

When the NFL looked into it, the issue they had was public transport and noise. If the event has to start at say 7pm EST, you are looking at 90,000 people leaving a stadium at 3am.

As you say though, it will depend on the PPV figures in the States.

A 4pm EST start though, would have a fighting chance

You’re saying it wasn’t expected for Rhodes to win? As a man who spunked money on The Ascension, your betting odds also agreed.

We’ll just agree to disagree on this one mate.

Again Trish & Lita, why? Is their no one else on the roster been built up?
Lita was absolute dreadfil. She can't move anymore.
Also, she was never any good, except as spots as a manager.

Let's be honest, if they really wanted to. They could fit all the big matches into 1 night, but a 2 night thing has become the norm for extra ticket revenue but worsened the product.
There's alot of filler matches on both nights but the big matches are actually huge.
I'd recommend sticking something like Football Manager on for when the filler matches come on as I'm doing!
Yeah, a 3 match pre-show would be better, and maybe even 2 afterwards so some of the fans can avoid the crazyness getting out?
I'm playing FM now

My impression on WM is that it's become alot more like the Superbowl, where there's more product placement than the actual on-field action. But at the same time the last 2 and a half hours has absolutely flown by.
They just need to get rid of the oldies coming back, it's fun once but when it's every year, nah.
Mania was never about the wrestling though, it was always about the cross-promotion and oldies coming back for one night.

Mind, I know it's fake and that, but it still always annoys me that they have the "title can't change hands with a disqualification" rule on almost all title fights. I know you have to suspend your disbelief with wrestling but haway, if you were champion and the other bloke was getting on top you'd blatantly just get yourself disqualified. They show a heel proper anxious about losing, just get a mate to run in and smack the opponent. Reigns could get the Usos to do it in the first minute tonight, easy.
Remember how everyone loved the NWO? Well, that's basically what they did every night, and looking back, it was utter shit.

Time for Day 2 now (different tape, might need a new joystick - bet nobody gets that reference...)

There was the slightest hint in my mind that Solo was going to nail Reigns after he helped him win. I think that’s the way they’ll go.

Definitely. Reigns loses one of the titles, Solo wins MITB. Storyline continues as Reigns manipulates him telling him he has to win it back for the family before he finally turns on him to take his remaining title

Honestly they could have had the most incredible payoff for the amazing like term story.

Rhodes winning the title with Owens and Zayn helping to fend off the Bloodline and take them down on the biggest stage.

The audience would have been buzzing for weeks.

Why they turned it down I've got no idea. Where are they going to go with it now and how could it possibly be any better than it would have been had Cody won?

I’m just simply sick of him winning through cheating. It appeared to be that, Owens and Zayn save it. Then they do it anyway.

Remember when he was handcuffed and Heyman couldn’t unlock them and the ref just stopped counting. That’s the Reign of Reign’s for me.

They supposedly want to split the titles again so I reckon they might strip Roman of one of them as a storyline punishment for the interference.
