I think It depends If your salaried or working by the hour, not sure how It works. Sure someone on here will have more of a clue

I've just read somewhere If you get paid monthly your effectively working 21 days this month Instead of 20 so should be paid an extra day

Shouldn't the 29th be classed as a bank holiday since It's a leap year, If you have to work It should get an extra day's holiday. I'm pleased the OP has stuck this thread on I will be asking the question this week at work If I get paid an extra day for It

Always confuses me all this, surely if you on a yearly salary just divide by 12 and get the same each month!!

If it was the other way round we would be deducted, I have no doubt about that. If every 4 years we worked a day less we would be paid less I’m sure of that.

That doesn’t exist really. You could probably argue you accrue time over the other three years and your four year average balances out.

How would this work for someone who is salaried to minimum wage? Wouldn’t it be illegal to then not pay them extra for that day?

Have you asked your employer mate whether or not you're going to get paid for the extra day I'm assuming you have by your thread and they've said no. I wonder how many companies benefit from this without the employee realising there working an extra day for free
