Work Email Etiquette

If you're having a long conversation with a customer, do you start each and every email in the trail saying 'Hi _____' or just on the first one?
 


seems to be a trend in our place for people to upload their mug shots into outlook. Not a good sight on every email mind
 
Depends how they email

If they say 'hi' to start their email, I'll do the same.

If they're formal with 'Dear', then I'll be formal.

If it's the first time I'm contacting them though (new contact or emailing on behalf of a colleague) it always starts with 'Dear' instead of 'Hi'

Depends on your relationship with the customer and how they address you in emails, surely?

dont do what one of our trainees did when emailing the contracts manager cos he thought he'd been caught out dolling off college:
