IT and Computing, mate. But I have taught English in the past and have worked in international schools where correcting misuse and putting grammatical mistakes right is important. And I write a bit occasionally.

Not an annoying phrase - but annoying that people get it wrong.

"Hoi Polloi" - means ""the masses or the people"", and has been used to describe the working class, commoners, the masses or common people.

A lot of people seem to think it means the upper class or posh folk - which is completely the opposite.

I thought that as soon as I read your post. I have never said it, though.

I agree with most of the posts on this thread.
Probably use some of the words sometimes 😄😄
 
Install instead on instill. As in, 'the manager has installed a great work ethic into the team.' No. They're not computers.
