It's the top level of the women's game. Are you making the mistake of not being able to seperate it from the mens game?

I'd say it's true that there's a huge amount of piggy-backing involved.
Everything has been laid on a plate in terms of existing teams, facilities, stadiums, even strips and fan base. Parents will take their kids to women's games because it's cheaper and easier imo.
That's all fair enough but it just means the top six will eventually just become the equivalent of the mens top six.

Well aye as there is a clear and very evident attitude of "its only women's football". They just want their sport respected like the men's game is. Everyone knows the quality isn't the same.
This whole thing that its rammed down out throats is absolute nonsense. If you don't want to watch or read about women's football it's very easy not to do so.

Liberal lefties? It is a major international tournament for the most popular sport in the world being played by a sex that represents about 50% of the world's population. Not a minority sport by this or any definition.
The more interest it gets, the more investment it will get, the better facilities and pathways for younger people to join will get, only meaning the standard will improve over time.

The problem, well my side of it, is the over-promotion of it. It's on the telly. I choose not to watch, my choice. I go on the BBC footy site and it's all over there. It's given more importance than better quality and better supported football at the lower level of the men's game. Not this tournament, in general.

Mate, it's a European Tournament. It'll be over in a few weeks. It's not had months of run up promotion. It's being promoted a lot because it's happening now.
Same happens with Wimbledon or The Masters Golf. It's just what happens.

I still don't get that argument. Why shouldn't the top level of womens sport be covered? The emergence of the amount of girls playing football is f***ing brilliant, that's in part because of the attention its getting. Should we go back to years a go when young lasses hardly had the option of playing competitive football?

I live in Ireland. This morning (and the last few days) have been about Ireland beaten New Zealand and the tour. I couldn't give a shite about rugby. I think it's a shite sport that is played by 8 countries. To me the League of Ireland clubs playing in Europe should be the main story. But obviously more people are interested in Irish rugby than League of Ireland.
It's getting greater importance because this is the biggest women's tournament in Europe. In general lower league football gets more coverage than the women's game.
