Wissa Statement

Wouldn’t you think after what Isak has done to them they would want to avoid players who are acting in exactly the same way. It’s practically a mirror image, including the statement.
Some do and want nothing to do with Wissa….but some have fallen for the ‘thanking the fans’ routine.

love it if liverpool offer £50 million and say striking players are not worth it . he could have very good season and then real madrid want him and be on strike next year

When a club is looking to get rid of a player they are left out of the squad, look at Chelseas so called 'bomb' squad.

No loyalty both ways, yet its only the players who are vilified.
This 100%. That’s how football works, that’s how football works, and anyone who thinks otherwise are being very niave
If you only want to play for Brentford for 4 years, you sign a 4 year contract. Simples...

Ohhhh, you wanted to bag a sign on fee of a longer contract...
And how do you know, at that point, how long you want to play for them?

I think its wrong when a team freezes someone out and makes it a negative experience for a player (which isn't great behavior at all), but you are still paying them etc and more likely to accept a below value fee so a player can move to find somewhere that works for them, the player can also refuse if hed rather stay on his contract.
When a player refuses to play, it feels like the club have even less control as really the only outcome is to sell and most likely won't be at a price the club value them at. Either that or you keep an unhappy player and cant really replace them either.
If Newcastle hadn't left it so late in the window, I think Brentford would have been more likely to accept but at this stage having already lost mbuemo how do they replace another forward in a couple of days. It would be catastrophic for them.
Its a mess in both scenarios though

It's clubs that push for longer contracts now to help mitigate psr. As with Isak you can outgrow a team

If you are unsure: sign er shorter contract and extend it when you know.
If you were happy in your job when you signed a 3 year contract, then a year down the line you got a better offer (better money, more opportunities), what would you do?
Oh, and at the same time your manager, whom you loved working under, left and was replaced by someone you didn’t rate.

They’re utter scum, crying about Isak and the same exactly applies here.

They’re at their peak for their 900m they’ve spent. It’s all downhill from here for the scummiest club on earth.

Surely he'd have to put a formal transfer request in for that happen? I haven't looked into it much but surely Brentford could just claim he put no formal request in to leave?
They all don’t do it as they’ll forgo any monies they are owed. There’s a reason neither him or isak have lodged a formal transfer request even though they’ve been shouting they are desperate to move.

I love the fact they group themselves with Liverpool as a club 😂😂😂😂 they’ve won one tinpot cup in 70 years. Liverpool literally try to win every competition pretty much every year and have won most of their entire club haul trophy wise in that 70 years the mags won nowt. But aye they’re identical as clubs. It’ll be the same mags who think they are massively bigger than us when we’ve won the same amount of trophies in the past 70 years. Newcastle are closer to us as a club than they are Liverpool ffs.

They’ll be well behind us in as little as three years. We are a club on the up, everything is aligned, utter professional people running the club (yes, they’ve had the odd fuck up) but just compare KLD, brought up with football, schooled in running elite sports clubs, business orientated, then you’ve got speakman, who I think has now proved beyond doubt his ability, and Ghisolfi who is one of if not the best in Europe at player recruitment. Not to mention RLB, a modest tactician who is superbly qualified in managing young elite athletes. Now look at them, Saudis know nowt about football, it’s a shiny toy to them, coming to the end of its useful life (they’ve got their World Cup), then there’s beheaddie and his nephew running the club spending hundred of millions on players that, although are good players are far from the world class they crave and who are way way overpriced. Their days are numbered, just enjoy us reeling them in and leaving g them in the dust while their Saudi murder sympathizer fans go onto total meltdown.

Doesn't say whether the 'in writing' specified a price and if Newcastle have met that specfic price. I suspect not if Brentford can raise the price and reject bids.

To be fair, clubs will often be pushing players to sign a 5 year deal so that they can spread the transfer fee over 5 years for PSR. IF it's true that Wissa has a written agreement from the club that he can leave and the conditions of that have been met, then I'd agree it's a different situation to Isak. But obviously we're unlikely to ever know what was in the agreement, if it exists

Wissa says reasonable but surely they would have also discussed what a 'reasonable' figure would be?
During these conversations, it was confirmed to me and my representatives that the club would not stand in my way if a reasonable offer was received. This was also put in writing

If not then why did Wissa even bother saying owt publicly as that's just Wissa thinking that £35m, or whatever it was the mags offered was reasonable. If they did discuss numbers then you can understand his frustration as it would be more Brentford losing Mbeumo and him means they've lost 39 goals from the 2 players and not having replacements.

That's what I thought above but if there's no price then releasing this statement to put pressure on Brentford just makes him look like a twat.

Will Brentford 'reply' to it publicly like the mags did?

Exactly. If his agent has got something in writing, and it doesn't include a stated fee, then that's on him (the agent). After all, reasonable is subjective. What Brentford might have considered reasonable at the time might not be considered reasonable when they've already lost Mbuemo and haven't got replacements lined up. Losing Wissa now could relegate them and cost them hundreds of millions, of course they won't let him go cheap at this stage
