Ah the high street is a shit hole, no denying that. I was meaning more about sunderland fans being there. In know loads.

He wasn't suggesting no Sunderland fans lived there though was he? Thought he just meant that a mag from Wallsend is likely to be a lot more "died in the wool" than one from Ireland with no links to the place who simply chose to support them

I’d prefer Paul Allen. Anyone with mag connections has no place in our club for me. Purely for the fact when the going gets tough they are the first scapegoats. Doesn’t work. If he is part of a syndicate not so bad. I however don’t think the story is true anyway.

You're probably right, but I still don't get the logic in it. I can think of two people, one who definitely posts on here, that has no connection with the area who are massive Sunderland fans. I'll say again I don't have problem with the him in a mag top mind.

I know what you mean, and some are obviously massive fans but I do feel that when it's been passed through your family and when it's a club that represents "your" city, it means a bit more to most, with some exceptions like you say

Aye, I suppose it's why I get pissed off that the club being shite is killing things like the atmosphere in pubs before the game. Also it kills me when the bairn says she doesn't want to go to the match because we'll get beat. Like thousands of others my Dad took me, I still go to aways with him, so naturally I want to pass that on to my kids.
