The thought of us being owned by a mag doesn't sit well with me I'll be honest. If I ever got the chance on to own them or even just make any major decisions it would be with the intention of running them I to the ground.

Quite a few photo's of him doing the rounds on Twitter decked out in Mag tops.

Normally I might care about the mag jersey but our current situation has made see things a little clearer....as in who gives a f**k who he supports! Once he has knowledge of football and understands the passion in the area and what the fans want to see that's the main thing

A f***ing mag, the club is cursed i tell ya!
The mags went on a wanakathon when one of theirs done the crossbar challenge, god knows what they will do with this news.

I’d imagine not a great lot. It’s a laugh but nothing more.
I’d rather be owned by somebody who a passing interest in our rivals and football fan than somebody who has zero interest in the game at all.

Irish businessman in question is Cork-based William O’Brien — who runs a successful storage and crane hire operation from Bishopstown with links across Europe. “I take my hat off to you for your persistence, but I have no comment,” O’Brien said when contacted by The Times. Well-placed sources say that he has joined with some English investors ready to take the club off Short’s hands.

O’Brien’s track record suggests that his diversification into the business of owning and running a football club should not be taken lightly. The Wm O’Brien Group was set up in the 1950s by his father, also William, who died last year at the age of 89. It is an unlimited company and so it is difficult to gauge O’Brien’s financial worth, but the company has extensive interests across Europe, along with bases in Britain and France.

O’Brien is a former farmer and has travelled extensively in the Far East. The company’s slogan is: “Where O’Brien goes, Prosperity follows”.
Crane's u say. @moshpit will love him

Its not like he's a die-hard, blokes from Cork, not wallsend.

Yes, you wouldn’t think that an overseas Mag would have the same rivalry with us as a local. Also if he is part of a larger consortium, then they would all act in the club’s interests.

It’s more about the financial clout. If there are some of us involved, great, but someone needs to have some cash, and it’s less about where they are from or who they support, but what they could bring to the table.

Having said that, I’m taking it with a big pinch of salt.
