I get trying to keep it tight but I’ve said all season the young players are the priority, id rather keep them and not buy as much in the summer. My gut feeling is that we might take it too far in negotiations trying to save cash, but maybe I’m wrong. I think there is now but not in the past which we are seeing the outcome of now, with him probably moving on. Bitter pill to swallow but we may (looking likely) have to.

Everyone said 5k so going off the majority. No but I’m saying is things change, maybe he got wind of other interest. We just say that’s our final offer?

We didn’t match his offer till January, if we’d done this early in the season I feel he’d have signed already

I’m not even having Ago really I just think Maja and his agent are hardly top level conmen, feel they will struggle to make deals if that’s their bar

I think Maja goes then it doesn’t really say much for the philosophy personally. Should have been sorted earlier we let it drag on to long, his values been going up and up every time he scores,

We did try and sort it earlier, it's been going on for months but Maja doesn't want to sign. No blame on the new owners, nothing they could have done. It's a minor miracle what they've managed to do in 6 months with how much was on their plate.

But we are not privy to the other financial challenges that they will have had to have faced and they will have had a list, which he will have been down the pecking order of. Maybe I am wrong but I don't recall people pleading for his new contract at the beginning of the season.

That’s just your opinion, I disagree. Think they could have sorted this earlier, sorry. You can’t say the people who have been in charge all season couldn’t have done anything like.

We don’t own a football club like. It clearly was down the pecking order. Anyway, just my opinion.

Aye, fair enough. I think everyone is in agreement that he will be a loss but a harsh lesson which will hopefully prevent us from falling into the same trap again. Just think we were on the back foot with this one through no fault of the current owners (and I am by no means a blind follower irrespective of what comes out)

Some of it is my opinion but some is fact, I believe we've been trying to get him to sign a new contract since the beginning of October. Yes, they could have effectively tried to sort it out on the day they walked through the door, but there's such a thing as priorities. Back then this wouldn't have been high on my priority list either.

The case still remains that Maja wants to leave.

Fair play, agree to disagree. There’s a few others that taking a long time which hints it might be haggling too much. Will see
