Why do people like Star Wars so much?

Not sure what the big deal is with it. I've seen some of them and the acting is bad, rubbish special effects and dull stories.
That one with the fighting teddy bears in was ok, but a bit far fetched.
Any trekkies care to explain what the big deal is?

I loved the first 3, the next 3 weren't as good but enjoyed them mostly.

The new ones aren't as good but still enjoy them, and loved rogue one.

Lightsabres, starfighters, heroes, villans, scoundrels and bounty hunters. Good old fun.

So out of 9 and a rogue one as well, only 3 are any good?
Yet it gets all this attention as if they're important films. If only 30% of them are any good why do people bother with it?

I suppose there is a significant amount of nostalgia for most fans over the age of around 35 as the first three filums were excellent to watch as a kid. The latter ones aren’t as good, but now my kids love them and we’ve made it a sort of tradition to go to the movies on Christmas Eve to watch the latest release.

Back to the future trilogy are great.
Blade runner was alright.
