Solid enough and doubt you will find it much cheaper these days.Chaps? Ardbeg 10?

It’s a strong lineup to be honest, the only dram that didn’t appeal was the Loch Lomond grain. I ordered the Mannochmore and Springbank - the latter is better than the recent SB 12 CS imo. Please post your thoughts as there a couple of bottles of interest to me.

Which were you interested in and I can perhaps describe them in more detail?
All are very decent. The Teaninich is not really for me but I struggle with the sweetness of rum led whiskies. The Mannochmore, Teaninich and Benrinnes all appeal to me.
Thanks. All are very decent. The Teaninich is not really for me but I struggle with the sweetness of rum led whiskies.
The Benrinnes was like a sponge pudding, Mannochmore was quite dairy and orchards. The Teaninich was like a fruit paviova.
In the room the Miltonsuff and Mannochmore were the favourites.
If the same one £39 in DecemberAmazon currently have the 2023 special release Singleton 14 year (55%) on offer £49.99

May have already been said but for everyday drinking the Glenallachie 12 is cracking drop and very reasonably priced. Also the Tullibardine 225 is on offer in Sainsbury's at the moment and well worth a try if you like a sweet, fruity finish, a highly drinkable new whisky. Also as previously mentioned the Ardbeg 10 is a no brainer.
And I know... Fuck Off Mag!
The Tormore was amazing value at £99. Sold out in next to no time. The Whisky Barrell have many of their “Apollo” range on discount.
Had some decent ones over the years.
Had a decent Highland Park and Caol Ila in the past. The Tormore was amazing value at £99. Sold out in next to no time.
It is, good knowledge! I only have a quarter of the bottle left. It's a real beauty... Not for the feint hearted. Is that a Bowmore in the SMWS bottle?
Is the ere any soapy note? Bowmore was renowned for it in the 80s likely due to Jim McEwan running the stills too fast. Albeit, I think ‘81 may have been before his time as Master Distiller. It is, good knowledge! I only have a quarter of the bottle left. It's a real beauty... Not for the feint hearted.

I have just had a nip as it has been a while but Tbh I don't taste it. I remember reading somewhere a few years ago about coal tar and I sort of get why but to me it is unique. Maybe some of the more familiar notes are Iodine, but less intense and medicinal as say a Laphroaig. there is some warm spice, maybe cinnamon and/or pepper. Also, it is not at all peaty or smokey but it does have a very pleasant intense lingering heat, which leaves something resembling burnt wood. All in all I forgot how good it is.Is the ere any soapy note? Bowmore was renowned for it in the 80s likely due to Jim McEwan running the stills too fast.
