I’d take the Glenfarclas 15 over their 21 or 25 which are at a shocking 43%.

Even 15 has jumped almost overnight from £50 ish to £75

Another vote for Port Charlotte 10.
If you want something a bit cheaper then Ardbeg 10 is usually a decent standard in £40 range.

If you're going up a bit in price and want something a little different then the Signatory Bunnahabhain Staoisha 9yo from a Pinot Noir cask is very nice:

Think I only paid around £40 for it on an offer but still only £48

Aye I've ordered it for a mate and you're right I hot it for mid forty quid ish. Not bad at all.
Do like some of the Staoisha as well...often really good value

Only recently gotten into the stuff. Possibly anathema to many but I’ve developed a preference for Makers Mark and Whistle Pig, more bourbon than anything but superb in a manhattan or an old fashioned.

Like a whistlepig got the 10 year i'm partial to rye whiskey especially this time of year , if i drink bourbon i make rye the last one of the night with that peppermint/herbal flavour.
If you like makers mark try makers 46 much better than the std stuff.

The al bundha I’ve always liked…just not the price it’s now at.
I’d say the Aberlour and Glenfiddich are probably a step up from Singleton even though not had it

Only way to find out is to crack it open :lol:

Good and bad whisky is down to personal taste and where people are on their ‘journey’. The singleton is a £23 supermarket 40% shelf filler but it’s too easy for seasoned whisky botherers to turn our snobby noses in the air at these bottles :lol:

Crack it open and if you like it then it’s a good whisky and if you don’t it’s one to give your guests.

I dropped a Xmas card into a neighbours this week and he insisted on pouring me a dram. He proudly poured me a bog standard supermarket 40% Glen Moray, not something I’d ever buy myself but I was pleasantly surprised, bit sweet for me but certainly not unpleasant and big step up on most of the Bells and other blended fodder people buy at this time of the year.

You never know until you crack it past the neck pour 🤞

Just finished a bottle of Shanky's Whip Irish whiskey liqueur, as recommended on Blot Outdoors. It didn't last four days, lovely stuff.

Also a bottle of Raasay on the go, nice peaty chest warmer.

Having a glass of Ben Bracken 19 year old Lidls finest!! Don't normally go for the peated stuff but this is alright slightly sweet. Did a bit of internet research and people say it's basically Bowmore 18 year bottled for lidl not bad at all for £39 i paid last christmas.

Some decent Raasay bottles about…lots of variety
