Whisky

Everyone has different ways of enjoying their whisky. Have you tried without all the ice and maybe just a smidge of water ?

I know the real whisky heads will have nothing, ice or water depending upon the beverage (my step dad is like that and hes got a lot of the more expensive gear) but I always just opt for a chunk or two of ice.
“we all have different tastes Schmick”
Wish I enjoyed the smokey/peaty offerings more. They seem like the more sophisticated choice but I always enjoy those with sweeter notes. Got one in the other week that suggests a slight peaty finish but still has sweeter fruity notes as the dominants. Might be a way of me dipping my toe in. Yet to open it mind.

Like I say no right or wrong way.
Some people never quite take to peat…I didn’t initially but when you do ( if you do) sometimes it’s just what you really fancy drinking.

There’s going to be an official Springbank tasting on Tuesday, 20th Feb at the By the River Brew Co bar in Newcastle, if anyone is interested.

Tickets aren’t open for sale yet but should be shortly. Also tastings in Manchester, Birmingham and London thereafter. £25 per ticket.
I’d be interested, especially since my dry spell ( starting tomorrow) will be over by then

Happy New Year all, I've been enjoying Thompson Bros bottlings from Dornoch since my trip up there last year.

I've kicked off the year with an order on Tyndrum, £74 at 54.4 abv

and the North Star blend to make free shipping, I enjoyed that bottle too, not finished yet but good value.

TB looks canny and I really like the NS blend for the £32 or so quid.

Dry January only started on my return from holidays on Monday so will extend into February...doesn't stop me buying of course ;)

Seems like an odd post from a legit vendor.

Young grain with a 40% abv. It’s basically the grain equivalent of Bells.
Exactly…skene are legit.
Just seems odd, could be insta scam of some sort ?

Looks to be one of their Insta posts mind 🤷‍♂️
