Extremely high and we went from Monkwearmouth School at lunchtime to welcome him and got on Look North. They videoed from above at the crowd and I prayed that everyone saw it except Fitzimmons as we were late back for English lol.
His first game v Blackburn 0-2 and they hardly had a fit team. A Scotsman shouts down the tunnel “that’s p&ss3d on your parade Mr McMenemy”. That was Ian Miller and 30 years after I was teaching with his son and still do.
Crazy!!!
i remember watching Tony Norman in his first game at Roker and it was like night and day after he replaced Hesford. A proper keeper at last.
